Anyone else think Sage is not a Sharlayan job but Ironworks? The way the nouliths shoot bullets scream Ironworks to me.

The trainer being in Limsa Lominsa coupled with the fact Alphinaud still hasn't made the change to the job makes me think it's almost certainly a Sharlayan discipline and that the latter is going to adopt it once we make our journey over there courtesy of one of their more reasonable-minded individuals.

Remember how Urianger brought Alisaie her rapier before we departed on Carvaillain's boat? I see something similar coming along in our Sharlayan contact from Krile rolling up in a ship, and giving the weapon to Alphinaud per Krile's request.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
I can't see the two being connected, though, since job quests are set apart from the MSQ. But it does make sense if it's a Sharlayan discipline and the trainer is in the major port city that an international traveller is likely to come to.The trainer being in Limsa Lominsa coupled with the fact Alphinaud still hasn't made the change to the job makes me think it's almost certainly a Sharlayan discipline and that the latter is going to adopt it once we make our journey over there courtesy of one of their more reasonable-minded individuals.
Though if the trainer continues to hang around Limsa it's not impossible that they meet Alphinaud as well. But it would need to integrate in a way that makes equal sense whether you take up the job before or after he does.
In the long-term picture of the plot, you can pick up the job prior to Shadowbringers so it's not all happening at once.
(On a tangent from that, reaper is seeming like the even-more-poster job for Shadowbringers than dark knight is. They just have nebulous "darkness"; reaper has the Void and a Grim Reaper aesthetic to match the First's belief in the Warrior of Darkness as a dark figure shepherding the souls of the dying. And you can pick it up right before you start that story arc.)

Alisaie is frequently name-dropped as a pupil of the Red Mage class trainer, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch.

Just a bit dark but...The trainer being in Limsa Lominsa coupled with the fact Alphinaud still hasn't made the change to the job makes me think it's almost certainly a Sharlayan discipline and that the latter is going to adopt it once we make our journey over there courtesy of one of their more reasonable-minded individuals.
What if he only gets the job change when/if we kill his father? What if this is one of the goodbye's Ishikawa envisioned for the twins? If something happens to Fourchenault, who takes his place on the forum? It should be Democratic, but seriously Sharlayan seems to be unable to get its act together with its current leadership.

Just my opinion. Won't lose sleep if you don't like it.
I think it will be early on,
if only because of trusts. They'll want Alph to be a proper Sage by the level 81 dungeon, and I'd be surprised if we take care of mean elf dad THAT early in the story.
Oboro made a cameo during the siege of Doma Castle, so it's not a completely unreasonable expectation. If anything, Ishikawa seemed to imply we wouldn't be getting more full Job questliness precisely because they would all be pulled into MSQ.

I don't think they can all be pulled into the MSQ (beyond maybe a fleeting cameo depending on your quest status) because some of the characters have changed over the course of their respective stories.
X'rhun seems like he could get around that because he's a constant personality from start to finish, he's travelling alone between job quest arcs and he's been somewhat established in the MSQ as Alisaie's tutor, so it feels like he could turn up and play much the same role in the story whether he's met us before or not. Plus he has connections to the Scions and to Sharlayan.
