Just spent almost 35 minutes in leveling roulette: Dohn Mheg. I was pretty much the only one capable of doing the puddle mechanic, the healer was the only one aside from me not dying to it. We crawl through the rest of the dungeon, and healer has to go afk in the middle of the last boss fight, we ALMOST full wiped.

I think the heroes gauntlet I was a part of had the legitimately worst healer I've ever experienced so far
3? 4? malefics throughout the whole dungeon, no DOT at all, using aspected benefic and aspected helios on CD as a noct ast, did I barely giving out cards?
    I just... what.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention anything about that healer running OOM. That’s some high tier mana management level going on there..!

I had a nice, smooth run of Dohn Mheg last night. I was a DRK, the DPS were a DNC and a MCH respectively and the healer was a WHM. We completed it quickly with no issues and large pulls - which isn't what I expect during every duty but proved to be satisfying nevertheless. It definitely made me feel more comfortable about tanking in general.

Either I had bad luck yesterday or there's a surge in boosted healers/new players lately, because in 3 different occasions, all 70+ content, I got healers that would literally not heal, or use cure II/medica II spam and nothing more and am guilty of keeping quiet in concern of a 'you don't pay my sub' type of response, if at all

(Also as a WHM main it infuriated me because WHM is the most babyproofed job in the game, there's no way to be bad at it unless you genuinely don't even care)

so apparently the only option that doesn't "stress the newbies" is either pressing 1211111111, or do nothing at all.

I think there actually is a surge of boosted or new/returning players. Makes sense with the timing anyway.

In DR last night I was surprised to see that the "no healer" anxiety was still very real after this many months. Players complaining, leaving parties, etc. Even though there are healing lost actions for a reason..

Same thing with tanks. It's harder to accommodate that in CLL since there is no cache at the entrance(would be perfect if they added it so that you can actually still do it with no tanks/healers present instead of everyone chickening out).

Ok, this one just happened so i wanted to write it up while it was fresh. Worst Cosmos run ive had in a long time. DRK AST SAM and me on BLM with no first timers, i dont think anyone was together because they were all from different servers. Before we even get started, the SAM asks us to wait. Hes farming some particular drop and wants us to let him have it. Everyone is fine with this(i note in chat that i wont remember, and for him to say something if it actually drops - i tend to greed all drops without really looking at them). But him stopping us to ask this prompts me to notice something. Tanks hp looks fine, healers hp looks fine... why does the SAM have less hp then me? And further, why is he bothering to ask us to pass on a drop he can need and no one else can? My radar is now up before the first pull. Tank is shaky on the layout of the dungeon, and is hesitant at a bunch of weird moments. He does the normal pulls(and isnt doing the god-awful start and stop thing) and isnt losing hate or anything, but he keeps waiting to go at weird spots. I end up running ahead of him a couple times(i honestly tried not to but sometimes you just couldnt predict when he would pause), but i know the layout well enough to stop before all the spawn/aggro points and dont end up accidently pulling anything. It comes out through chat that the tank thinks this is only the 2nd time he's done the dungeon, and its been awhile. The healer also mentions having recently returned to the game and is trying to get back up to speed on healing. Ok, no big deal.

First boss is almost fine. Healer is a little shaky as was mentioned, i spend most of the fight between 1/4 and 1/2 health from roomwides. No big deal. The SAM is having a hard time doing the broom dodge(odd for someone farming the place), but so are the tank and healer so this isnt a massive red flag. My experience has always been that most people never figure out the safe lanes for that move. The red flag i DO notice is that he does 2 more broom patterns then im used to seeing before he dies. We have a limit break much earlier then im used to, so i drop it on a trash pack in the garden. Second boss is less fine. First seed mechanic someone doesnt grab one, and i get it at the last second. Second seed mechanic everyone grabs one, but 2 of them somehow got planted wrong and we have adds. Further, the adds explode and because the healer hasnt been on top of his game its a wipe. Ok. The SAM reminds everyone to check the wind for the 2nd seed move. We pull again, and this time we make it. Seeds werent as clean as i would like(if im standing on top of one mr tank, let me move it after this cast and you maybe grab a different one?), but no actual mistakes were made. The SAM even sacrifices himself during a distant winds move so the healer can be safe. He pats himself on the back for it in chat and everything. But... if the two of you are opposite corners of the same safe spot isnt that enough room? The healer was in a corner when you decided to die. And why not at least try to run to another opening, rather then just give up? The boss again takes forever to die, and the SAM even uses a LB on it after being ressed. I really want to look at his gear, but i really dont want to see just how bad it is. We continue.

Lugus isnt a hard boss, he isnt even really a tricky boss. You only really need to know how his fire works. We pull. Healer and tank both die to first mortal fire. I let him off me because we arent even remotely close. Wipe 1. SAM reminds us about the fire. We pull. This one looks promising, first mortal is fine. Second mortal i accidently start a chain reaction that leads to a wipe. We had exactly 4 furnitures left after his red fire, and when he launches blue i move toward a chandelier. I notice at the last second the healer is standing in it. I turn to move to a bench, but the chandelier has accepted my fire and the healer still has debuff. He goes to res the SAM(more on this in a sec) without realizing he is still in danger. SAM berates him to get to the other chandelier, but he isnt fast enough. Me and tank try to take him down anyway, but he still has too much hp(and DRK really cant help with heals or anything). I say me and tank, because SAM dies to the scorching side almost as soon as he gets up. Across the 3 pulls this fight ends up taking, SAM dies to this move almost every time the boss uses it. Why is a melee DPS dying repeatedly to an attack where you just move to the opposite side? I get that a caster or ranged can be caught standing pretty far from the center line sometimes, but a SAM doesnt have that excuse. He dies to red fire a couple times too(and maybe once to the number charge?). All in all, its possible the healer spent as much mana ressing as he did healing. Anyway, as we run back the SAM(who rememeber keeps dying) is again stressing how important it is to do mechanics. I can no longer help myself, and look at his gear. Exarchic jewelry, ok thats fine. Maybe one blue jewel, i dont remember for sure. Sword and all actual armor? The level 72 crafted set. No wonder our damage is so low that bosses are cycling 4 or 5 times, no wonder the other DPS dies to everything that brushes up against him.

Final pull. First set of mortals is fine. We have exactly 4 pieces of furniture left for the second set. Me and healer do the move. SAM is dead again. Tank doesnt remove his blue flame. Dies. SAM at this point goes off in chat. Again, the SAM who was already dead on the floor is criticizing someone else for screwing up. Well im the tank now. Im worried, but i know he doesnt use his tankbuster very often(ive tanked this before on BLM) so i only have to hold out for a little bit and this might be saved. I pop manawall to give the healer some breathing room, and continue my rotation. He gets the tank up, gets the 3 of us healed to a reasonable amount, tank takes over being tank again. At some point after this, the SAM is picked back up too. We get through. The tank tells SAM he should chill out cause its just a game. At this point im going to say something if the SAM keeps talking. He doesnt. His item hasnt dropped, and he leaves immediately. I dont run a parse, so i dont have actual numbers to back up what im going to say. I couldnt tell you how often the healer was attacking. I dont even know the SAM rotation, so i couldnt have offered to help on that front if he asked me to. But dude! Dont go off in chat about other peoples mistakes when they are CARRYING YOU to a clear you couldnt have gotten on your own. Both because your gear sucks, and because your play sucks. And WTF are you doing in a level 80 dungeon with lvl 72 armor and weapons? At least go get the GD free set in tempest if you cant afford a full good set. Just getting enough jewelry to hit the minimum for the dungeon you qued is a recipe for bad runs. If someone had started a kick you would have deserved it(too bad he didnt start mouthing off until the pull that we cleared it for him).

Final tally, a little more then 40 mins spent and 2 comms for me. That one was something.
