An indicator would be nice. Something that shows the metric for the said player, alone. No need to see other's performance unless somebody ask another directly. Maybe add an option to hide or show performance result in the setting too, in case players really don't want to see how they're actually performing for whatever reason.

Then again, the devs' has been crystal clear where they're standing: no 1st party parser. Pullstop. The closest thing we have right now is only SSS & the pvp score card end result. I don't think they're going to add anything more than that.

As was said by a very wise person earlier in the thread, parses don't matter in normal content. Those who wish, can secretly run them for self improvement and to get some fun from it and see if they can top the dps, which if one has the self control not to rage at people, can be enjoyable as a personal contest kept to oneself.

And that self control is what it comes down to.

It seems like a reasonable thought, but players do go to Youtube, twitch and so on to look at walkthroughs, to look at vlogs. How do we deal with vloggers pointing at their personal performance screens and saying "If you aren't here, you're a scrub, delete your character and uninstall".

FFXIV seems to be a very successful game. A lot of people who haven't done MMOs before still flock here, the new upcoming OCE datacentre should be taken as proof that the game is highy viable, and highly popular - for a sub game, too.

Adding in gold stars, and the potential pressure of needing to reach that bar through unexpected channels like youtube, twitch, might not be ideal.

I think I stick with the views of that very wise and knowledgable person earlier, keep it just as it is, it's working. Those who need parsers, and they are something for Savage, can use them slyly fight-club-silence style. And those that abuse the capability by rubbing other's noses in them, can keep getting jailed.
