Like I remember back in Stormblood on DRK vs. Exdeath Savage, I could nullify Thunder III x2 without an immunity by stacking everything and kitchen sink with Blackest Night used as the first thunder hit. After everything, DA + Dark Mind, Shadow Wall, Rampart, Reprisal, and Addle, I only had something like +87.2% mitigation, rather than 100%.
This is not due to reducing stacked effects but due to multiplicity of effects. It won't matter what order you apply the buff multipliers because multiplication is commutative. This means that A x B x C is the same as C x B x A.

In your particular example (using historical 2018 values),

    Code:
                 % reduced as a multiplier
    Dark Arts 30 0.7
    Shadow Wall 30 0.7
    Rampart 20 0.8
    Reprisal 10 0.9
    Addle 10 0.9

                    Product: 0.31752
That is, even though the percentages add up to 100%, you would still take about 32% damage while all those effects are active.

Yeah, so it's never additive, right? Also I forgot grit, so I guess it'd be 0.254016. Not sure what math I was doing back then. Even with Apoc it's right around still taking 20%
