I call it turning their own threads against them by having civil debates...at least for a time. If a thread goes on long enough it ends up destroying itself. That is inevitable. Trolls create threads to watch it burn. The less it burns the better!

That sounds nice in theory but I think it's still a mistake.
To keep with your burn analogy, you might be trying to turn a trash fire into a bonfire, but nothing can burn in the first place if you don't provide fuel. Not engaging is the safest and healthiest way to let it "burn out."
Not to mention that by trying to turn troll topics into a debate, you legitimize the side initially only supported in bad faith by bringing it up to your level.

Unless there is a community movement to blank a specific person / certain people, a handful of folks ignoring people they don't wanna deal with is hardly "weaponizing" silence.

I normally do unsynced savage for drops.

If you miss getting clear when it was current content you're are never getting a clear later. without people that don't need to learn the fight.

I think it's fine. The content is over a year old, all it's good for is cosmetics at that point.

People who just run content unsync'd clearly don't care about all the hard work and effort the developers put into the savage fights. For example take a look at that disgusting "good bye world" strat for o12s. Players would rather die than do the mechanic properly and it's not even that hard!

Either that or please start adding unskippable mechanics like Light Rampant

Raiders like me care about the hard work and effort that square puts into the fights, players who do fights unsync'd don't care about the effort the devs put into the fights at all, they just care about the rewards.

I do appreciate square squashing stats which will make unsync'd content harder, but I don't believe that's enough.

One thought I have from seeing your posts on the forum. 'Raiders like me care about the hard work and efforts into the fights and players who do it unsync'd don't care!' That's a very nice opinion. I care about the hard work that SE puts into stuff. I've done some content when it was on content (Some of Omega stuff, as well as T1-T12 of original coil). I've helped some friends learn some of the fights that were completely ungrateful for it/couldn't care less about the fight. There will always be people who do it sync'd that don't give a damn about the fight at all, and that's a fact.

And using myself as an example. I got a few things going on up top, and certain mechanics will put me into an overload where I can't comprehend anything going on at all (Mechanics/anything people are saying to me). Some fights I literally can't do until much higher ilvl, if not unsync'd where I have the HP/stats to absorb messing up a mechanic. I care about the work they put into the fights, but I just can't do them. So kindly stop spouting opinions that you think are fact just because you think they're fact.


As well as seeing you with the 'triple legend' thing in your signature. It honestly feels like a 'I did this sync'd so I want to demand everyone else does it too!'


Final note: XIV's devs have said many times 'Oh the players thought up ways of doing fights we didn't think of'

One example: Turn 2 and waiting for the boss there to enrage before actually starting to fight him due to being able to skip Allagan Rot, which was a real party killer.

I think it's great that unsyncing exists! In my opinion the rewards from savage / extreme should only be relevant on the expansion they were released on. What is the issue if I can get the omega mount or the dog mounts easier? People that got them when they were current already got their window of exclusivity. Casual players deserve rewards too!
