Do you guys really think male Viera will be that rarely played?
I mean, female Viera did become the third most popular race, after Miqo'te and Au Ra.
So I'm guessing male Viera will be fairly popular too.
I definitely plan on playing as male Viera.
I love my Elezen, but it's gonna be awesome having another tall, handsome male option.
On a side note, I don't think the male Viera look feminine at all.
They're not hypermasculine. Hypermasculine would be more like the Roegadyn and the Highlanders. But not being hypermasculine doesn't mean you're not masculine at all.
I can definitely see the difference between male and female Viera. It's apparent to me. It's more than just hair length. It's facial features and bone structure, body proportions, etc.
Male variants seem to be the lesser played of all popular races (bar Hyur). The body type also reminds me too much of the Elezan males (tall/skinny) which are the third lowest played male race in the game -- if you want to go by what XIV Census says.Do you guys really think male Viera will be that rarely played?

It fits too much of a niche. I also believe Fem-Hroth would also be unpopular for the same reason (too niche). I would have to see their customizations first prior to actual judgement.

Male viera will probably be fairly popular, probably like female viera. The number of hyur bots will skew the % though. It really depends on how much future support they give them, like if they add hairstyles, select headgear, etc.. A lot of future male viera will switch back to what they were playing prior, when they realize the limitations, if SE continues to not support their 'limited' races.
Don't have to read much into it. A lot of people just don't like the idea of bunny boys in general, or "weeb" games.

Elezen have some pretty well documented issues people have with them though (the walk, the neck, small head) that don't seem to be there on male Viera.Male variants seem to be the lesser played of all popular races (bar Hyur). The most controversial thing about male Viera right now is if they're going to be short or tall lol
Eh -- I am not of fan of the Viera walk either. The slouch walk just looks very awkward. Could have been the angle in the trailer, but it seems like they have neck issues.
Also Viera with their own hair/helm issues can still be prevalent into male as well.
Of course, it's a matter of taste in the end. Just what I'm seeing people seem a lot more enthusiastic about how they look and most of the "controversy" (if you can even call it that) is regarding their height.
I'd say it's almost a given they'll have the same issues as female Viera though, but they're still pretty popular despite of it.
As I said I would need a more hands-on look at their customizations to be more critical of them -- however, they seem just like taller miqote with long torsos from the trailer. I think they will be between Male Lalafell and Male Au Ra popularity or between Male Au Ra and Male Elezan popularity.Of course, it's a matter of taste in the end. Not overwhelmingly popular but not rare either;
I don't think any race they add will unseat the current reigning either, no. But it's crazy for some people to say almost no one cares or will play them, there'll definitely be a decently sized audience for them.As I said I would need a more hands-on look at their customizations to be more critical of them -- however, they seem just like taller miqote with long torsos from the trailer. Some people are being salty trolls that are unhappy that the game got something they didn't want to see being released. It's not anything new for the community really, happens quite regularly.
