Apply 2 dots, drop shadowflare, bane, then miasma 2 upkeep VS spam 1 button and fall asleep at lvl 80. that was ShB dungeon sch for me. and our 1 button doesnt even stun for a free hallowed ground duration every pull like WHM does. and we also have no aoe energy drain like SMN does.

I'd much rather we just get Shadowflare, Misma 2, and Bane back than keep spamming this in mobs, especially ones who have wide aoes or debuffs applied on hit. At least it was more engaging..
1. I play healer because I'd rather not get up close to mobs to deal damage while supporting the team.
2. It's functionally no different than Monk's Four-Point Fury (the handstand spinning kick aoe), just replace flashy kicks with....hit ground > summon dull light pillar..
3. It has zero extra effects on it. It's just damage and nothing more, no stun, no slow, no sleep, not even a buff, nothing. It literally may as well be something Monk uses in place of say Rockbreaker or something, not something a scholar/Nymian Marine would use.
At the very least if they wanted to make it unique, let Lily do an action with it, whether it be a copy like a dance partner ability or have her add effects to it such as damage down on enemies hit or damage reduction on allies or something worth the name.

I actually don’t mind it being point blank range, makes me feel like I gotta be active if I wanna contribute to the aoe damage output. Bob and weave with my little fairy and book. My only gripe is with the animation, the ground touching I’m totally fine with, the actual spell effect to me Is lackluster compared to the visuals of Gravity and Holy. Make it look like a Shadow Flare erupts around me when I touch the ground, now that would be nice.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Got nothing to add to Art of War that hasn't already been said. But what Scholar lacks is interesting things to weave healing cooldowns with. You got Ruin 2 and Art of War and that's it, unless they finally go and reduce the cast time of Broil to 1.5 seconds. That right there would open up more things for Scholar.
Reduce Broil cast time to 1.5 seconds and change Ruin 2 to some new instant cast single target, or AoE, GCD spell with a cooldown that doesn't sync with Biolysis's DoT duration and has higher potency than Broil. Would at least give the Scholar player one more GCD spell to break up the monotony of Broil/Art of War use without adding to Scholar's button bloat, as button bloat is becoming a problem with Scholar, and many other jobs.

I would certainly prefer my dots + Bane and Miasma 2 for large groups, but Art of War is okay... It gets the job done, and I'm glad to have FOUR less buttons to push (Removal of Bane, Bio, Bio2, Miasma) with the addition of TWO (Art of War, SCH dot whatsitsname), buuuut hey I've got a lot of spare space on my controller anyway, so.. Ca va.

Yeah, it kinda sucks. Stardiver is one of the big Polearm skills in FFXI so it's a neat reference to that but I mean, come on, Final Chorus just sounds way better.
