    I’m sorry to hear that but I’ve felt somewhat the same since storm blood changes so I understand. RPR has changed my thoughts on whether the devs read our posts though. They clearly do read them - rpr. I really wish they would refine the jobs currently in the game instead of loosely applying our aesthetic ideas, among other concepts, into new jobs. If DRK isn’t as unique or better than heavensward iteration I’m leaving tanking. I never tanked before DRK bcs I had no desire to because the jobs seemed unappealing to me. DRK changed that. I enjoy tanking but I can go back to a DPS. I’ll gladly suffer while smiling every time I see a 30 minute queue time for a trial fight as a DPS waiting for a tank if that means devs take notice. Create a good product and the money will follow - they need to put more effort and, if necessary, more money into jobs they already have in the game.

    It's not a bad thing at all.

    I normally level a tank first before going back to level one of these new jobs, but I might change things up this time. The DRK storyline was wrapped up with Shadowbringers, like most of the previous jobs. I'll just name that fang-blob Frey and we'll go on adventures together, arguing over whether to rescue grapes or punch flame primals.

    Melee DPS is the natural counterpart to tanking, but the job selection and aesthetics have never been very appealing. SAM was probably the closest match for tank swordplay, but they're still too refined and proper. We finally have a medium armored job with a weapon that has some serious heft to it.

    As Odinel pointed out, it's a win-win. If bosses continue to position themselves and mitigation remains uninteresting, there's a great alternative for tanks looking to make a difference to their groups. You're not losing anything mechanically by role swapping off tank. And if they fix the issues that we highlighted, then great. You still have a fun alt job option for when you want to mix things up. It's a perfect fit for anyone who isn't satisfied with the current state of tanking.

    personally think im going to just go down the route of red or black mage come 6.0.

    As much as I prefer and enjoy tanking normally... there's just not a whole lot to enjoy right now and I don't anticipate much to improve nor shake up the status quo come EW.

    I fully expect Salted Earth to be removed as a skill. Maybe Delirium gets the Bunshin treatment. And they will ignore LD and not change that.

    I am fine with DRK and I have been a DRK main since HW. But I do think the other tanks get more attention even despite us being the poster child for a expansion.

    I’m more than okay with salted earth being nixed. But if only the rest of your prediction comes through that will be a slap in the face.

    I'd trade it for powerslash to come back though.

    Salted Earth also deals laughable damage for a fixed ground aoe with a 90 seconds recast.

    As a comparison:
    Salted Earth: 60 potency every 3 seconds for 15 seconds, adding up to 300 potency over it's duration for every enemy inside, 90 seconds cooldown.

    Bow Shock: 200 potency up front and then 90 potency every 3 seconds for 15 seconds, adding up to 650 potency over it's duration, 60 seconds cooldown but you also only need to hit enemies with the aoe once to get the full dot duration, they don't need to stand in a tiny puddle on the ground.

    Salted Earth is 95% getting nixed in 6.0. I just can't wait to get, in it's place, a trait that upgrades abyssal drain to being salted earth with lifesteal for mobs inside it.
