Please do continue to defend playing poorly. I am sure the parasites appreciate it.

Not one of us has defended the parasites. We're not defending cure bots or ice mages or tanks who intentionally play spin the boss or the player who thinks they can AFK.

We're defending the players for whom guides don't work for them to learn content/job. For the player who might get the gist of the guide but needs to play with the unpredictability that comes with playing with others brings. We're defending the normally superb player who is having a bad day in game and making mistakes they normally wouldn't make. We're defending the player who has had a horrible sudden burst of lag mid-dungeon. We're defending the player with a disability whose skill cap is lower than others due to the disability.

    We're defending the players...
... who are picking a job, or even the game, back up after not playing it for a bit, and they're a little rusty.

We're defending the players who recently swapped around a few things on their hotbars and are still getting used to things (the training dummy doesn't help me remember I put my interrupt over here)

The players who had a bad/hard day and just want to relax, so they que into a flippin dungeon (no stakes) to see SAM go brrr.

The players who went into content, and then through no fault of their own have something IRL asking for their attention and distracting them.

The players who've trying, but don't yet realize they're missing something, or performing their rotation non-optimally, and don't deserve ire and blacklisting for the incredible transgression of maybe making an alliance raid take a little longer.

We're defending people who aren't doing anything wrong or malicious, yet are being attacked behind their backs.

OP has been told this several times. They don't care. They view all those people you listed the same as leeches. When they see someone not playing to their personal standard they take it as a personal insult. With OP it's always about how other people are disrespecting their time, wasting their time, taking advantage of them. It's all about what other players are doing to them. They view themselves as a victim.

The bads did not want to improve. So instead of reflecting on themselves and reading a guide, they blamed the "elitist".

Where in my post did I mention that we were supporting those who were not wanting to improve and blaming others?

    Because I can't find it.

You really need to realize that not everyone is as fast at learning things as you or has your learning style. You'll be much happier in the end.

And the Elitist did not want to help, so instead of reflecting upon themselves and treating other players with consideration, they blamed the "casual."

    Isn't being pithy fun?

    This is it.

There this weird notion in this thread in that those who are disagree with the OP's stance also support people who trolls or people who get mad when other players trying to reasonably give them advice. No we're--or at least I am--not.

Just try... to be more empathetic with others.

This is going to be a ramble, so if you read it. Kudos.

A very long time ago, when I was much younger I played EQ, did some raiding and did not know much about min/maxing. After all..I was a ranger. Endless quiver/sow bot.

Got into wow, and my views of mmorpg changed. I was a raid leader, and a toxic one at that. If you want to do end game content, you should play your best or at least try your best. If you failed more than once on the same thing. You had to bring a repair bot for the people you failed. We geared you out, and that gear you used belongs to all of us. That was the guild pride. Many expansions later, I gained a disability, and I can no longer play as good as I once was. I am sure I could find people that would accept that, but it is a me problem. I can't accept it, and to this day struggle to accept it.

Now, I play a MMO with my wife...and she is the type of player that use to make me rage. She would look at a class, pick what skills she liked and did not like and use the ones she only liked.
When I told her that is not good dps. She would be like so? I'm like, don't you want to improve? She said sure I do, in the way that is fun to me.

Watching her fail and laugh, smile and have fun in games that I use to take serious. I understand that it was not her playing the game wrong. It was me.

My point of this story is, I'm glad this game protects her from people like me. Who would try and teach her or be upset and lash out because I could not understand her perspective and why she is wasting my time. This game to go through the story content it sometimes requires us to group. So i am glad that I have some peace of mind knowing that if people try and ruin her way of thinking or fun. They can get in trouble. It is not anyone place.
Thank you for acting like a decent human being. That's a lovely story about your wife.

I try, like I have another friend who plays, but he uses only trusts. He hates grouping with players because of the abuse he got from players in another mmo giving him anxitety, This community is much better, but some scars are really hard to heal and kindness can't always fix it. (reason why I hope one day they add duo trusts, so I can help him out.).

He still enjoys the social elements, talking to people and crafting/market stuff. Just trials and dungeons triggers it.
