Male viera don’t belong to you. Lots of players joined together to make the collective voice heard. Of course I’m not personally responsible by myself. It is insulting when you say because I play miqote my preference is small and cute. Not because there is anything wrong with being small and cute, but because you are projecting your prejudices onto me and others by generalizing a specific group of people and acting as if their opinions don’t matter. It’s like telling your your opinion doesn’t matter because you are just a big macho Roe guy. It’s not right. Don’t do it.

2. The person I quoted didn't say that, nor did I myself when I agreed with him that a lot of miqo'te players are in that short cute bubble. You're throwing yourself into that bubble out of your own choice

What I think some actually just want is simply a replacement for male elezen, as many are unhappy with them, and it's okay to feel that way!

That's exactly what we've been saying.

I've been typing "I just want to play a handsome tall male race that isn't Elezen" or something along those lines in almost every post here.

But male Viera can't be a good alternative to male Elezen if they end up being the same height as Midlanders or Miqo'te. That's why we don't want them to be shorter than max height female Viera (because max height female Viera aren't much taller than max height male Midlander).

EDIT: Adding this for clarification

Max height female Viera = 75 inches tall
Max height male Midlander = 71 inches tall

So, therefore, if max height male Viera are made shorter than max height female Viera, they would be very similar in height to male Midlanders.

If anything, a good solution would be to have a femroe-like height slider with a wider range that would please more people. That's what this thread was trying to do.

But some people are arguing that max height male Viera should be shorter than max height female Viera, which would pretty much make them the same as Midlander. And Midlanders aren't tall.

Many of us tall male players in this thread don't mind the idea of Viera males being allowed to be short, as long as they're allowed to be tall too.

Because we do want alternatives to male Elezen, male Roegadyn, male Au Ra, etc.

Folks got major hangups with height. I remember someone calling me unfeminine because I'm a bio 5'10 female, lmao. And it's kind of rampant in FF community, well no, not rampant just the vocal minority who when they see a male that's under 6ft that they're a 'manlet' or 'femboi'. It goes both ways.

On the actual scale of heights, yeah, being under 6ft is considered 'small' - and that's me ignoring everyone else in-game and just talking about NPCs. Derplander may be canon WoL but he's small in the land of Eorzea, and some people have hangups with that as it messes with their perception. EG, it's like if aliens popped up and they were 8ft tall, there would be a bunch of folks feeling really small, even if they're over 6ft. Like yes, you're tall - for your species race - but in the grand scheme of things, you're small. Human brain be weird.

Either way, if every race - barring Lala - had a broad height range then people would probably have a lot more fun. I'm not just talking about Viera, but every race. Gimmie a 6ft catboi, a 5'5 Elezen, etc.

Except that YoshiP himself said male Viera would be a male Elezen and male Miqo'te mix. Female Viera ended up occupying the same spot female Elezen occupied.

As one of the "thirsty RP demons" (I guess not really in FFXIV) mentioned in this thread, I hope they get a generous slider that allows them to be either tall or short.
