Just because it's snowing doesn't make it winter. I live in the Midwest in the US. I've seen snow on Halloween. Halloween was still fall that year. Thanksgiving is still fall. It's just late fall.

Seasons are based on the positions of the earth and sun. In the northern hemisphere its from the Autumnal equinox in September to the Winter Solctice in December. In the southern From March to June. It never snows where I am except maybe 1 time every 3 years in February. It doesn't make it sumner all year long however.
Want to complain about the time frame I hear you, it's 6 months out, but its not misleading to say Nov is between September and December because it is. (Now maybe our AUS friends can complain?)
Lol the forecast for Edmonton Alberta on Wednesday is snow. Yet Saturday it was 25'c / 77'f so is it winter again?
Yeah they kinda needed to STFU with their unfunny quips about Fall 2021. In this industry whenever they give a tentative release window like that it generally means it's coming out the end of that season or the beginning of the next one.
So for example if 7.0 was slated for a Winter 2022 release it's generally going to show up at the beginning of Q1 2023 just before or right after Winter would be over.
They do this all the time. Which is why I always prefer precise dates instead of "windows".
I mean... yes they're based on the positions but how those positions translate to specific seasons varies massively based on where on earth you are.Seasons are based on the positions of the earth and sun. Just on a four season model you have astronomical seasons which are as you say, but then there's also Solar seasons where the solstices and equinoxes are actually the middle of the season so halloween would actually be the end of autumn, and Meteorological seasons (which is what we use in Australia at least) which always start on the first of a specific month so Autumn ends on November 30th. There's also say the Hindu seasons where autumn is two months and would end mid-november, or there's also the ecological seasons which are based on what's actually happening in nature so you have fun stuff like dates changing based on the climate in your area which can lead to november being either winter or autumn in the north.
Those divisions are also really irrelevant in the tropics where November would be the start of the Dry season in the north and Wet in the south, in those areas it is basically summer all year long it just the humidity varies.
Long story short, seasons are silly things to base much of anything on other than what the climate is like in your area.

This thread is Bullshit.
You have a date. Make an informed call. November 24 will be gloriously hot here in Queensland, and I look forward to it.
You don't have any say in the design, construction, release date, or anything to do with the business that makes this game, a product you choose to pay and use.
Sit down, Karen. No Managers are available to talk to you.
And I thought we were already scraping the bottom of the barrel for complaints. Nope, y'all broke through this barrel and are now digging into the barrel underneath it.
Actually seeing people here arguing about what "fall" is.
Starting to remember why I took a break from the forums.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
The delay doesn't bother me much. It's understandable, really - the development cycle was thrown off course by unfortunate events and although I'm excited about the expansion itself, I'd rather have a complete finale for the current story arc over something rushed.
Besides, the weather is getting warmer so I'll be getting plenty of fresh air in the coming months. By the time it starts getting very cold again, Endwalker will be out. I consider that a win, really.
They.... Were honest. They said at FanFest they wanted to make the content as good as possible and they felt that this was the good spot.
It's not winter until December anyways. Black Friday starting the "winter/holiday" season is an American thing because of Thanksgiving; most countries consider it "winter/holidays" on December 1st.
