When does Hydaelyn call Azem a beloved son/daughter?

I was referring to this part of Heavensward after we fully restore the blessing of light and Midgard lets us on his back after we're deemed worthy

"Warrior of Light. Beloved son. The Light abideth within thy heart again. Full valiantly didst thou overcome thy many trials. But glory not in thy success. For the servants of Darkness are ever close at hand. Receive of me my blessing once more, And go forth, to shine thy Light on all creation."

My bad if I phrased that awkwardly but I was wondering how does Azem go from opposing Hydaelyn to his souls reincarnation on two different shards becoming valiant Warriors of Light? Being called Champion of Hydaelyn seems a full 180 no?

I think that has more to do with how Hydaelyn views the sundered rather than her specific views on us. Titles like The Mother Crystal further push the idea that Hydaelyn sees herself as the mother, protector, and shepherd to the sundered, in contrast to the the unsundered who are their manipulators, rulers and destroyers. On top of that, Azems soul is probably not the only one she can connect to an Ancient she knew, so she probably has had many experiences to demonstrate why she shouldn’t connect the original Ancient with the person with the soul now. Beloved is also likely just an acknowledgment on how we, more than anyone, have received her blessings and support.

Well, that's kinda the thing. WoL and Ardbert aren't Azem, just like Gaia isn't Loghrif. They're all reincarnations and they've all inherited some traits from their predecessors, but all of them are individuals and have their own individual choices. I imagine even if Hydaelyn holds animosity towards Azem is aware that WoL is a shard of him, it doesn't affect their judgement of us much.

Not necessarily a 180. If you consider Hydaelyn the current Will of the Planet, then anyone and everything living on the planet is currently one of the children under her care.

I truly do dig it and find it incredibly amusing! It's almost kinda funny in a "coming full circle" kind of way that even when sundered, a shard of Azem with their own lives and dreams will reject a nations of scholars who hide themselves at the end of the world. I fully expect one of the scions to drop Fourchenault with the bomb that was Louisoix's last words to him.

It's almost kinda funny in a "coming full circle" kind of way that even when sundered, a shard of Azem with their own lives and dreams will reject a nations of scholars who hide themselves at the end of the world. I fully expect one of the scions to drop Fourchenault with the bomb that was Louisoix's last words to him.

I suspect it'll be Alphinaud if anybody utters those words. Remember, both him and Alisaie were there at the end of Coil with us, nobody else.

To be scrupulously fair, the Leveilleurs have given the impression through dialogue that the statement is probably one of Louisoix's favourite sayings, and Louisoix never misses a chance to use it.

So Fourchenault's reaction would probably be something along the lines of rolling his eyes (but probably not actually rolling his eyes, as that would be impolite and un-Sharlayan) and going "yes, I've heard that one before."

I think it's more so that the twins know their grandsire's will and have it play some part in addressing Fourchenault.
