I think asking for a version of the song for sale or otherwise is fine but tying it to some kind of charity donation is in really poor taste. If you want to donate to a worthy cause you should just do it without requiring anything in return.

I fully agree with you there, but this is how a lot of charity things work with gaming nowadays. Heck, I'd argue that it's a lot of charity events in general. WoW is constantly selling pets (minions) for charity. Supposedly most of the proceeds go to the charities, while Blizzard gets a cut and those donating get a little something as well. I guess from a company perspective it's a win/win/win. The good PR is also nice.

With how the mail is irradiated to keep things from getting through that shouldn't, there's no fear of that. At least stateside. I don't know if other countries do the same. For all the hell 9-11 put us through, that is one thing I won't nay-say them doing.

Soken is truly a treasure, and as somebody who lost family members to cancer and had other family member fighting it successfully, I'm really glad to see that he's back and that his prognosis seems to be good. Wishing all the best to him. He deserves all the love in the world and more, truly.

I get you, but if people were going to just straight up donate, they would already. This encourages people on the fence, and also does it in a way that the donations can be channeled directly via Soken so he can see how much support he has in a clear way. Even if there were no orchestrion or it was a “pay what you like”, I think it would be good.

Really any options to donate in Soken’s name in mass.
