It's alright, the midsection being shown is not really my thing. The pauldron is all wrong too, it should be on the left shoulder. A lot of games mess that up though.

People are typically right-handed. The left side is where a combatants guard is to the enemy, right hand would be the 'sword arm'. That is why historical armor was more protected on the left side. Having no pauldron on one side, would allow for more freedom of movement on that side, the right side should be the side that is free however.

Well, if we talk about GNB, PLD, MCH and probably RDM - yep, they are. SCH/SMN seem to be openly left-handed (based on their /victory pose). With everyone else it's fairly hard to say, since most weapons in the game are two handed, though the main focus does seem to be on the right hand which... isn't very indicative, because as a left-handed person I can say that we're taught to do a lot of things with the focus on right hand (since, as you correctly pointed out, the majority is right-handed).

That said, I wouldn't pay much attention to that on a racial gear, that doesn't keep a specific job in mind. It's more noticeable with concrete job pieces, though. (In a vacuum with perfect conditions we should be able to pick if character is left or right handed buuuut well, it's not feasible to implement).

I cannot stress how hard it is to put 2 races in one expansion, when I consulted with the graphic design team they said “I will give it a try if Yoshida san really wants to do this but it is not realistic to do 2 races at the same time. As we begin to look at what races to create, we noticed there is an overwhelming amount of FFXII lovers asking the question “can this really not be done?”. A huge amount of players had made fan art based on the female version of Vieira and we kind of draw inspiration from their works.

To be fair Matsuno seemed to like most fanarts himself back when the majority of them were posted and even asked his friend to draw one (which did mostly match with other arts), so maybe they did in tandem with him.

Like, what if they just never told us about their inclusion in EW, and we all were just having fun playin' the expansion, until we visited an ARR zone and saw a newbie as one, and go "WTF IS THAT??!"

My impression of their height, based on the reddit post I linked earlier, is they're around the same height as the females assuming that male is max height, and taller if not. However, we know nothing about where their scale begins or ends, so in the absence of the benchmark we'll just be speculating. I would like them to be in the range of male elezen but I'd be fine with a roegadame-styled height slider.

Wouldn't surprise me. Especially if you compare one of the bun men in the reveal to this.
