    To me, I feel like we're at a point where they don't even pretend to care about other roles anymore.
    It sounds to me like you want an action MMO. That is not this game.

    Sure, I want tanks to me more than beefier dps, it's why I stopped tanking, but I don't know of any game where you can actively tank in that manner that isn't an action game.

    And even in action games its still "hold button to block". It's not much more engaging tbh. I played Tera for a year or so.


    They simply need to just go back to having more roll specific mechanics in fights. Like how coil and to a lesser extent Alexander was.

    In FFXIV infact. Back in SB Warriors had baked in 6 seconds 20% mitigation in Inner Beast while under Defiance.

    That's still just a cooldown though lol. You press a button and take less damage. Also, that existed since around 2.2 or 2.3. Inner Beast was always a defensive CD, except before the war rework back when all it did was absorb hp.

    What exactly are you trying to do here?

    First you come and tell me you stopped playing tanks because of their design then you defend said design and on top of that you insult me then continue to misunderstand when I only used an example of what we had.

    No, I'm saying what you said is "active" isn't really. Inner Beast was just Shelltron, but with damage. And there was no insult, what are you even talking about.

    I'm not defending the design, I'm just stating that I don't find Inner Beast to be the solution.

    Back during Coil I had an incredibly strict defensive CD rotation. I also had a lot less damage GCDs. Now its just, throw up a CD during a tankbuster, and it'll be up for the next one. Turn 4 I had to use them in very specific orders, and call out what was up and when it was falling off.

    Telling someone who was here since the 1.0 closed beta that they're playing the wrong game sounds like you treating them like an idiot.

    I only used that as an example, it's a bad example but I'm refraining from my own made up examples in fear of derailing the topic. So my point was that they should go harder in that direction. How they do it, it's up to them but how it currently is, is just no bueno.

    Well, how was I supposed to know you've been here since 1.0's closed beta. Your forum join date is 2018, and that's all we can go off of.
