The main reason Elezen aren't popular is their awful proportions (I can't say I blame anyone for this), and I say this as an Elezen myself for over 6 years now.

This. I am a massive, massive fan of elves in any fantasy setting (or hell, sci fi, I love the Eldar) and will play an elf in almost any game that has them. Yet for some reason I am instead playing an Au Ra. Because the Elezen really don't look aesthetically pleasing to me. When I started playing almost a year ago I spend god knows how much time trying to make an Elezen work before finally giving up and going Au Ra instead. It's the faces and body proportions for me.

And not just that, but also the fact that Elezen women STILL only have two faces to work with. With two make up wearing 'variants' to give us the illusion of choice. I think they'd be a lot more popular if we actually had more choices and I also say that having mained a female Elezen through HW-SB and having returned to being one on my main just recently. They look gorgeous when you do them right but getting them to look unique is like pulling teeth.

Elezen are few, and the proud. They also aren't a cult like Roes. Roes are creepy. Miqo'te are too basic. Au Ra suffer from waif-syndrome. Hyurs are...there. Viera are cool, but lack hats and most refuse to wear pants. Lalafell are FBI agents.

It's both... but this is what happens when you're race is 95% female, 5% male. Either each male has multiple female partners just to make sure enough males are born for the race to survive... or the race dies off entirely.

Keepers don't practice polyamory on a societal level. They're family units who might get together with one or two other families for the sake of hunting.

This goes both ways though. My SO is Elezen, and some of the stuff they glam looks amazing but when I try it on I resemble a 12 year old girl trying on my Mums clothes...

These are probably rare cases, in my opinion (I've personally never seen such a case). I have a burning hatred for shoulder pads because of the Elezen proportions. The pads look huge on them. And to make matters worse, I main BRD, and a lot of our chest pieces have that cursed 1-shoulder pad thing going on, which creates even more imbalance and further accentuates the horrible shoulders condition. When female Viera dropped, I was green with envy at their balanced proportions (minus the bust. That part is a bit too much for my liking) (T_T).
