Elezen are much more beautiful than Miqo'te or Au-Ra

I think Elezen are criminally underrated and under-appreciated in terms of both representation in the player-base, and in the cumulative perception of what the community deems beauty. I find this misrepresentation unfortunate, and frankly, illogical. I aim to change that with this post.

(Author's note: no actual player characters were used in the making of this post. All were randomly generated in the character creation function.)

Observe: Exhibit A: The Elezen.



Beauty, elegant, tall and beautiful; attractive features generally sought after in models or celebrities. She has a strong sense of pride for her people. Her loyalty to those around her is unwavering. Her beauty, unquestionable.

Yet on the contrary the character class that is often over-represented is the Miqo'te.

Observe: Exhibit B: The Harem-Dweller.



Uncouth. Poly-amoral. Over-represented in immoral or unsavory professions. She has questionable loyalty, even to those of her patriarchal communities. A common sight in highly illegal professions such as poaching or erotic role-play venue owner.

Furthermore, you have the second-most over-represented character class: The Au-Ra.

Aggressive. Tribal. Yearly they assemble in vast plains to engage in barbaric war with one-another. Often, members of stronger clans kidnap or enslave members of other weaker ones- hence the rumor of their predisposition toward acts of barbarianism, such as unprovoked aggression or grooming.


I hope this thread has enlightened you, and made you reconsider your prejudices towards what the community has deemed conventional beauty.

My thoughts? My thoughts are you can appreciate the beauty of Elezen without resorting to bashing the other races, and slinging around polyamory as an insult undermines your argument. There's nothing wrong with liking one thing more than another, but this is either a poor attempt at troll bait or you have some serious issues that you might want to work on.

The main reason Elezen aren't popular is their awful proportions (I can't say I blame anyone for this), and I say this as an Elezen myself for over 6 years now.

So a 1000 Years of War with Dragons provoked by Elezen are not babaric and they treated their own ppl like animals if they were lowborn. I know you might refer more to the Gridania Elezens but every race have their dark history. On the other side there are Au Ra Clans like the Raen in Sui no Sato that are not barbaric at all. And even Xaela Tribes are not all barbaric like the Mol which just want to live peacefully.

I like all the races but i like my Au Ra the most and its fine and so are Elezen players.

I find their proportions to be quite elegant. It's unconventional- different. I find other depictions of elve-like people, such as the Elves of Tera, uninspired and tacky; in that game they are essentially just tall people with chest-sliders automatically set to maximum.

My main issue with their proportions is that they limit me in my glamours. A lot of pieces look downright horrible on Elezen (especially the shoulders) and I can't use them even though they look pretty neat on other races.

Yes, that is a valid point. I am quite fond of Scyla's attire, yet it looks awful on my character. All-in-all though I don't think it's in any way a disqualifier.
