Could reaper’s avatar gameplay be a sneak peak into summoner’s rework?

So after watching the reaper video multiple times and seeing how their avatar comes out and does attacks and goes away. With a summoner rework most likely happening due to Yoshi. P’s answer to Mrhappy. Could this be the direction their going for summoner? Kinda what people been speculating. Like Yuna from dissidia. Summon primals to do attacks then they vanish away. I honestly couldn’t help but smile at the reaper job seeing their avatar be what summoner should of been.

    What do you guys think?

Doubt it. I think Reaper's borrowing spitball ideas from Drak's Beastmaster musings given how their 'avatar' looks, along with fulfilling the Dantes, Belmonts, and other edgelords niches for players that can't stand tanking.

The little shade seems like an install super, which I don't think we can expect from SMN no.

I feel obligated to point out that Dante (most of the time) and the Belmonts (most of the time) aren't very edgelordy.

As for the topic at hand, I also doubt it. I can't quite put it into words without going into what I'd like to see, but I doubt they'd use the same gimmick for two different Jobs.

Best way to put it is I expect a bit more camp than what DRK has and less stoic dad syndrome, mostly because it's a DPS class.

OMG, I can totally see something like this for Smn, not so much the transformation deal because it would steal Reapers thunder, but the whole Jojo stand thing for sure could be something for Smn.

-Get rid of Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan as separate pet entities and instead change "Summon" into more of a stance/stand, rather than having pet out and following you.

-Summon can grant an aura around the Smn relative to the summon, fire for Ifrit, wind for Garuda, earth for Titan, or if they can get some pro effects working, the egi can just hover right behind or around Smn shoulders kind of deal.

-Keep the Egi Assault but then when Smn uses those, there is not longer a delay for the "pet" to act because the Egi will now be more of a spell effect rather than a separate entity.
Example: Using Burning Strike with Ifrit could then have Ifrit phase in next to the targeted enemy with a fiery effect, slash the target then phase out or return to the Smn.
Example: Using Wind Blade with Garuda could have Garuda pop in and hover over or side of the Smn, and shoot out a Wind Blade then phase away or return to Smn.

So yeah doing something would fix the pet delay response cause they would basically just be very fancy skill effect rather than full on pets.

The only problem with this concept is that it ends up affecting Scholar at the same time if it's something that'll likely end up affecting Arcanist at the root. Unless they full begin splitting SCH away from ARC (though how that goes I have no idea), it's a toss up on what happens to them both, cool idea as it sounds.

At this point, the only thing SCH shares with SMN is the Arcanist class and the resurrection spell. You can look at SCH actions menu and the only class action is resurrection. They are so close to separating them, it wouldn't surprise me if they were finally split.

Why create two jobs that play the same? More than likely they took the idea of "Yuna from Dissidia" and applied it to Reaper to give that group of people a job they would enjoy playing.
