BRING FFXIV DATACENTER TO SOUTH AMERICA

Honestly I was surprised and very sad when I saw that news. I'm from Brazil as well and I've played since 2014. I don't even know how to put into words what my reaction was when I saw they weren't giving no attention to SA whatsoever.

Furthermore, from the limited playerbase information that we have, it's known that the demand for a SA datacenter is higher than an Oceania datacenter. There's currently 3 datacenters on NA that take all the traffic from Central America and South America. There's way more countries on CA and SA than there's in Oceania as well. I honestly don't understand that decision. Logistics? Business? Some feedback on why that never was considered for SA/CA would be GREATLY appreciated.

In regards to a translation, I don't think we'll ever have this but eh.... Yeah, I'd do it for free as well. Count me in on that endeavor. All I want is for more players from my country to enjoy that which is indisputably the best MMORPG on the market.

they created the Oceania DC due to:
1- Oceania players were only able to play a little stable in Japanese DC
2- for only being able to play a little stable in a Japanese DC they were isolated by the Japanese players due to language barrier, there or you speak japanese or you're called out and ignored by the entire DataCenter

while we kind have the same "language barrier", isn't that "greater" than SEA with JPN due to English being the universal language speak/read, Japanese is a complete different language and far complex than english.

I'm not justifying why they choose opening an Oceania DC first than a CA or SA, I'm just pointing to why they did it first.

But of course I wish a CA/SA server, it was way better when they were located in Montreal than in Sacramento, IDK how cause well geographically speaking Montreal is way far than Sacramento for us xD

The distance is actually very small factor.
The routing from node to note throughout the land is what really factors in latency.

A lot of players on the western continents had better connections to Montreal because, for whatever reasons, the routeing was better closer to the eastern side.
The western side gave better connections to some, but worse to others. I really miss the Montreal data centre

Where is the information that states there are more demand for a SA datacenter than an Oceania datacenter?

Also, it might have highlighted a few countries in the image presented during the keynote but even countries from South-east Asia (which is near the equator like Central America is) can benefit and choose to use an Oceania datacenter server.
