then you are clearly utilizing irony in the statement "not ever dare" since the implication is that you would dare do that. That also means your first post is ironic, because despite being presented as serious, you have already admitted you actually disagree with your own suggestion and only did so to prove some kind of point.

Only you don't get to play the "it's just a prank bro" card when there was no indication of you doing such a thing from the first. You're not some kind of lab assistant doing research and playing a psychological trick on us, and you don't get to imply how obviously against your own suggestion you are.

Either give any kind of hint from the start or don't complain when people take your face-value post at face-value. Text is already hard enough to interpret as is and you don't get to be a dick about how people misinterpret your own poor communication.

Usage of this forum requires an active subscription to the game.

I wouldn't pay anything extra for forum related stuff. Nothing could make the money spent be worth it.

There's nothing wrong with spending money on a hobby, though.

Some of the replies here seem to be the equivalent of someone peeking into a shopping trolley at a supermarket and criticising the products purchased because some happen to be optional luxuries.

People can have a lot of money and still think that it would not be worth it. Also it would divide the forum just further. Not everyone dislikes the idea because of being envy. They just might not think that its a good idea.

On the contrary, a large portion of the FFXIV community has a habit of taking everything at face value to the point where subtlety and nuance is lost on them.

You do know that its really hard to read tone out of something if its not writtten out clearly? And if as you say a large portion fail to see that then maybe its on you? It also does not help that for most of the time you try to at least discuss things seriously, unlike known trolls. I guess I will have to take your future posts now with a portion of skepsis too, if that is seemingly not meant to be serious.
