I figure it's a reaper class or something to do with scythes/sickles to be a 'maiming' job.

So probably Beastmaster, Reaper, or Exorcist (and Exorcist is a big if depending on context if they don't want to mess with WoL using undead power). I wouldn't say Exorcist would be too far off actually, now that we're in the final chapter of the Zodiark vs Hydaelyn arc, we 'purge' all the evil. It kinda makes sense in a way? We get rid of all the bad stuff and thoroughly cleanse the world, bringing peace and letting the dead ones move on.

We have Dark Knight + Black Mage, and their counterparts would be Paladin and White Knight. We have Ninja which should be the stealthy shadowy magic melee job, but we don't have a counterpart to it - so I would assume exorcist would fit the role here quite nicely.

Who knows, Maybe Gosetsu will return with some relation to the Exorcist plotline with his pilgrimage and helps us set our path towards it.

Though I'm pretty sure it's goanna be Beastmaster, with the Island Sancturary update since they can implement the limited aspect of BST at the same time. Two birds with one stone.

I really hope we get a bamboozle or a really epic reaper job.

Clues are way too obviously pointing towards the reaper. Can't help but telling ourselves there's something hiding behind it.

Reaper itself doesn't sounds like an epic job or "final fantasy job", most likely it'll be an original job if that's the case.

Though you know, 3 shirts of a dead guy. Elidibus has used 3 dead bodies in our knowledge... and his bossfight included only existing jobs (while foreshadowing endwalker through FFIV references) expect for himself. So ya knoooow

Honestly, would need to define "Reaper" as an FF class first.
As for beastmaster, I think it can happen, but would be better represented as a limited job like Blue mage is. Can't really be a beastmaster if you have like...3 or 4 set beasts to use.

There are Beastmasters we have run into in the game: Lyon rem Helsos, Hernais pyr Longus and Clarricie quo Priscus . They are neither tied to the Island Sanctuary nor are they armed with scythes. They are Garlean soldiers of the IVth Legion and they are armed with axes and shields.

Which is why I don't think it will be "Reaper" precisely.
Something else, something like "Ravager" would work as an established FF 'role' (XIII and XII:RW) could still wield a scythe, and so it would still have that 'Reaper' aesthetic, without the lore.
Meanwhile Zenos being his own brand of "Ravager" would still have the Reaper imagery around him.

But, we only have 28 hours to wait now. So get your last minute guesses in.

I've already speculated in this thread-- I reckon the possibility still remains for the new job to be a VOID MAGE, VOID MASTER, VOID KNIGHT, VOID TEMPLAR-- or simply a TEMPLAR that uses Void based skills-- like a mage-knight. Why do I say "Void Mage" or "Void Templar" or "Void-Knight"?

First up-- "Void Mage". The info from the Save the Queen battle notes regarding the "mage-knights of Landis" still continues to remain a smoking gun for me. As mentioned within those notes, before the Garleans absorbed Landis --Noah Van Gabranth's original homeland-- one of their cities (Mannatheihwo) was home to a company of mage-knights.

Second guess-- "Void Templar". This was straight up deduced from the T-shirts that Yoshi wore during the Endwalker announcement-- we've all had this one analyzed a million times (and we might all still be wrong) but you all know the gist of it by now-- “The Filth and The Fury” words on his shirt which happens to be the docu-film on the Sex Pistols which was directed by Julien Temple. Temple → Templar?

Third guess-- was a job class resembling Ran'jit and his Scythe, which many people already speculated upon--(and to which I actually initially subscribed to)-- until I began to wonder about the context of how the origins of his job would fit into the lore for the Source. We dealt with him on the First-- and I liked his charcater a lot -- but I would grimace to see him as the quest giver for the new DPS job. Just doesn't feel right.

Last guess-- "Void Knight". After the initial excitement of discovering the (scythe?) weapon beside Zenos' throne in the Endwalker trailer, I started thinking-- a scythe-welding "mage-knight" with Void skills might be a possibly. But why "Void" though? Here's why-- my deductions might seem silly but weirder things have happened:

Remember them? Our illustrious Mhachi mages from the Void Ark raids? According to the wonderful pages of my Eorzean Encylopaedia (pages 30 to 35) the lore explains that the Mhachi civilization evolved within the Yafaem Saltmoor which is just northwest of the Mor Dhona area-- and they were the originators of the voidmage job-class.

For those of you who haven't completed the Tales of Mhachi --which I've always loved by the way (it's the Black Mage in me), spoilers are included below; thus, I've hidden them-- if you've completed the tale, go ahead and open...
    • We have had in-depth stories related to all the 24-person raids except the Tales of Mhachi tale and their mysterious ark-- which I'm fervently hoping will be expanded upon in Endwalker.
    • The Mhachi's war with Amdapor (the War of Magi) had unleashed extremely devastating consequences and led to the six umbral era by means of a massive flood.
    • To escape the flood, the Mhachi decided to build a refuge in the skies, called Dun Scaithe and a massive Void Ark which would which they believed was their best method of surviving.
    • They were confident in using their massive Ark as a means of sustaining their way of life while floating in the skies above (until the floods has subsided) and then use Dun Scaithe as their new base of rebuilding their civilization.
    • One of their most prominent mages, High Voidmage Cessair -- who had actually been imprisoned because of her disapproval of the war with Amdapor-- was tasked with leading the new ark.
    • She again expressed reluctance for the whole venture but accepted the task as a means to help save her people.
    • As expected, her fears were eventually confirmed when the seals and wards on the ship gradually started to fray. Some of the voidsent escaped, started wreaking havoc on the ship and tried to free their queen.
    • As a last ditch effort, Cessair and the fifty (or fifty-three?) void mages and knights on board sacrificed themselves to maintain the seals on the ark. Her familiar-- Cait Sith-- was tasked with keeping watch over the seals imprisoning the Queen and her voidsent within the Ark; a task he has faithfully maintained for over 1,500 years.

Now look at the Endwalker logo-- see that ship headed to the moon? Why the heck did it suddenly remind me of the Mhachi, their Ark and their Voidsent? Perhaps it is because the interior architecture of that tower in the trailer (with Fandaniel and Zenos) looked expressively very similar to the ones within the Void Ark raids.

Could it be that the new job will have something to do with them? Void wielding Knights perhaps?

    A silly thought--- I know, I know.

I predict that after 6.0's story is done they're gonna use 6.x to work us towards the next story: dealing with the 13th.

Edit: oh shoot this is a board for job predictions.
    Well now I feel silly.
