A Request For More Gear Like 2B's Bottoms

I'm hesitant about this. Mostly because we have the "give us tattoos!" crowd and the amount of people who dislike gear that forces body markings on you.

Any gear that is added to the game can be quite easily be glamoured over, though...

I don't know the request at heart seems innocent enough: gear that adds additional unique customization - not necessarily butts. As suggested, this could be a way for the WoD stubble to become available. I thought it was pretty well known that the ERP community actually regularly utilizes mods; what they see on their screens isn't what a regular player sees.

If they do add more, I wish they make them actually fit. The 2B bottom doesn't actually fit with the character models in my opinion, especially depending on your posture, like if you're sitting or crafting. It just makes the limbs look bad.

When FFXIV become ARR, character models were changed. Many players did not like the changes to butts.

In addition, individuals have been asking for changes to the character creation screen to have better customization options. Finally, there is the huge issue of Vierra and Hrothgar not being able to wear most headgear.

The hurdle which has prevented most of this from being enacted has been the time and expense it would take to make all of these alterations to the base models.

It seems to me there is an easy workaround already in the game. Gear.

S.E. can provide the player gear which change their characters body. Items such as 2-B's bottoms, Krile's Attire, and Minfilia's Modish Attire show it can be done.

I request that S.E. continue this trend and offer new gear with effects such as better muscle definition, beard stubble, and hairstyles. The sky is the limit for the possibilities.

The only problem I have with them adding in more gear similar to 2B's attire is that it it only pertained to female character models - Not saying that's a bad thing, since that was clearly the intention behind (hah) the set's inclusion - but did absolutely nothing on male models.

I think a good idea would be to have two versions of the item added to the game - one that modify's the model like 2B's gear, and one that doesn't. It's not a perfect solution, but it's a good idea to...well, propose solutions and see what works and what doesn't, to be clear.

The only issue I can see with this is that people may want an item appearance without the forced character appearance. A toggle that would allow for the character alteration on/off may work but that would require even further coding.

I'm answering your post separately since it brings up a different topic.

MPK, I'm not asking for gear which will allow a certain segment of the player base to go overboard. Certainly not something as silly putting Minfilia's breasts on a lalafell. That would be stupid and rather gross.

What I'm asking for is which would allow players to choose relatively minor changes to appearance of their character model. For example, a dyeable hood with hair which viera and hrothgar could wear.

Or a chest piece with a muscular chest and forceps, so players who play Roegadyn and other races have the option to have someone more muscular than the character creation screen allows.

I wouldn't mind this. I miss my butt from 1.0, but I don't particularly like the 2B butt lol. I just would like a simple pants or something that doesn't make my derriere flat as a board. I also like the idea of hoods that have hair that would work for Viera & Hrothgar. Overall I like this idea very much. Nothing overboard, but some things that would be subtle.

As an aside - I really wish we could have the start/stop physics back from 1.0 when we take off running or come to a standstill. But I know we'll never get that back. /sigh

I’d rather they give us more male gear in general over more feminine gear like the 2b bottoms. We didn’t even get a 9s coffer to balance the female 2b glam coffer :/
