Racial Gear

Not going to happen nor should it. I'm also in the camp I'd like to see more racial/race specific sets not less and that includes the hempen set. Would be nice if they got around to making one for Viera given it appears time limitations stopped them with xpac release.

While I don't mind the racial sets that exist I'd rather them not take the time to add more. Unless of course they 'do' add a new race down the road as unlikely as that seems.

In a vacuum, it'd be neat to have more but we only get so many actual new sets per expansion/patch as is. The resources to make a unique armor set for each race would take away at least one 'tier' of new armor, maybe more since new armor sets tend to reuse assets. (Caster/healing gear often being palette swaps etc).

I think the racial starting gear could stay the way it is.

I wouldn't mind the hempen sets getting unlocked, though.

Yes it does. I would look amazing in Lalafell starting gear!

People often don't realize just how good the lalafell racial gear is compared to other racial sets. It's a proper adventurer's set and goes well with almost any class provided you're going for that explorer look, being a nice and sturdy set of clothes with just a bit of leather protection on it. The female set is a bit less versatile than the male one, though.

I don’t really feel like the current gear adds anything special to the races, personally. I guess the closest is the viera racial set, but that’s mostly because it’s the only set that gives them the different foot shape, and is the “iconic” set that Fran wears. Maybe if the racial sets were more specialized in that way I’d think more highly of their exclusivity, but as it stands it’s just casual cloths like shorts and mini skirts that only one race can wear.

That being said I don’t think they’ll unlock them for all because a lot of people enjoy them for the little uniqueness they do add. However since uniqueness for the hempen sets was thrown out the window for viera and hroth I hope they’ll unlock the hempen sets.

Yeah, the hempen sets are basically underwear so they're whatever, but starter gear, despite not being exactly defining of each race's cultural background, are still the single gear set [aside from the aforementioned hempen] that's unique to each of them so it's some form of identity.

If anything, I'd actually like to see more race/city-state based clothing.

I think this might be the reason I enjoy the grand company specific outfits so much.

I'd be up for city state based outfits so long as they're not race specific. Though we aren't entirely without those sorts of things between gold saucer glam pieces, a lot of the eastern style gear in SB/HW, ala mhigo has a set of gear etc.

More city-state related glamour (or even more glamour related to the GCs), less race specific gear (and no more gender locked gear)
