    Suggestion : Keybinding presets

    Hello !

I can't really help but wondering why there are no possibilities to set custom keybinds presets. I personnaly play several jobs, and i like to have a very precise UI, especially when it comes to my actions bars.
The problem is that, depending on the job that i am playing, i don't want the same bind on the same bar on the same spot. And because of that, i cannot just click on a button to swap to another job, i must go into my keybinds everytime to swap them and this is kinda annoying haha
This feature would come in a handy, even as a macro command. I mean, there's a command to change the game's graphics settings in the macro list, but no command to change keybinds.
So i figured that it would be a good idea to post on the forum to share the idea !

    Thank you for reading

Why not? I think it's the simplest way to do it. You can choose which ability on each job to put on those bars.

You can have "1" be be bound to Sprint on one job and Teleport on another job.

Because i have specifics spells that are on specifics bars. All my actions bars aren't displayed the same way for personnal optimisation, and i also prefer to have some bind associated to the same kind of spells depending on the job.
All of this combined results in me not wanting to have the same bind on the same bar on the same spot depending on the job !
That's why i am making this suggestion.

While I wouldn't use a feature that allows keybinds in different hotbar locations for different classes, I support the introduction of this because I know a lot of players would use it. Related to this I would also support the introduction of having different hotbar layouts for each class, again I wouldn't use it but I know many would.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your suggestion, but there's a "shared hotbar" option in the settings. De-selecting the shared hotbar option allows you to customize each bar for each job. The only hotbars that will share settings are the ones you choose to.

It wouldn't allow you to customize UI placement of the hotbars for each job, but it does let you place the actions for each job exclusively.

I know, i already use this great feature on every of my jobs ! But, in my case, it doesn't solve everything. A keybind preset is the only thing that could solve the issue.

Could you please provide some examples on what exactly your problem is? Maybe screenshots would help because I don't understand any of your "bars look different depending on job for optimisation" stuff.

(only because clicking is famous to poke at, I honestly don't care lol - you can be good and click).

Personally I set mine up similar to how I play a MOBA, FPS, or other sRPGs. What I mean by that is I use a lot of the letters and low numbers, 1 2 3 4 5 q e r t y, f, g, z, x, c, v - keys like that. That way I play entirely with my left hand focused in the left sphere of the keyboard. With less used abilities being farther away or combinations. On my mouse I've also keybound my combo key (so I can reach other rows without 'having' to claw my hand up; although, I still do sometimes . . lol).

I am not sure whether you are playing on PS4 or PC, but i do know that keybindings are stored in the Documents\My Games\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\KEYBIND.DAT file, would it not perhaps be possible to use an external program to keep copies of this file and then select them using say, a system tray icon when you want to switch jobs? The only caveat I foresee is that it may not load the keybinds if the game is already running and the file changes, which would mean a logout every time you wanted to change keybinds, or worse a restart of the game.
