Seriously guys, 25k is a lot of money for those that aren't into trading (at least it seems so when you hear all the screaming about the prices) I don't care, I have 9 of them on all my characters, just in case, but I think it isn't necessary for just changing the look of a retainer. Sure, to change name and race, but not for the look.

I hardly ever sell things through my retainers because I don't spend a lot of time per day playing, so most of my money is from doing duties/roulettes at level 80. You're level 80 too, so you have access to the same things. Maybe try the Doman Enclave if you've got that unlocked? It gives you a decent chunk of gil per week that at its maximum can almost buy you two retainer fantasias, assuming they're always 25k. I don't know what you're spending your gil on, but no one except a brand new player should be struggling to acquire 25k gil.

from someone who has trouble making gil - 25k is not a lot. especially as a one-time purchase. i spend roughly 30k a day just travelling and teleporting everywhere.

Who are these people you're speaking in favour of? The only one who says 25k is too expensive is you! I make zero effort to make gil under normal circumstances, and also have very little as a result, and can easily afford an item like a retainer fantasia for 25k gil.

My first priority is to hang out with my partner, have fun doing duties, and make glamours. So I guess I'm the person you're speaking on behalf of. And I do not struggle to make purchases like that. Go be a knight in shining armour for some other cause, I'm begging you.

As this is an optional thing, we can just keep playing until we gave enough excess gil for it.

It's not like you get to look at your retainer always.
