That's a good point. It was actually MMOs that made me realize you can't generalize people into generations. I have friends 10 years older and younger than myself, and everything in between.

There's some weird thing with some younger people (at least I've noticed) that anyone older then like 25 and anyone that more then a few years older then you can't be their friend, and that you shouldn't be "in the fandom" of things. Was blocked by someone becuase I was "too old" to be in such things.... And I'm only JUST 30 today!!!! Age is just a number.

On the flipside you have people like OP who carry this energy of like... "People my age suck because people my age only like ABC when I like XYZ!"There's some weird thing with some younger people (at least I've noticed) that anyone older then like 25 and anyone that more then a few years older then you can't be their friend, and that you shouldn't be "in the fandom" of things. It's not as strongly portrayed, especially in the first post where it's asking if people their age play the game, but later on in their post history it's... a bit much.

Yep. This is a really long time ago, but I never played WoW because my Mom thought it was a stupid idea to pay 15 dollars a month on a game. I think this was the earlier years of WoW, but I distinctly remember the little argument we got in in the store. Yet just a few years later I was spending boatloads of cash on microtransactions, but those aren't a subscription..
I don't know about that. This game is simply played by a different demographic. I can find a kid screaming on the mic quite quick in some of those games I listed. A few months ago I downloaded Rust again, to try out some update (cars I think), and as soon as I logged in I was hunted down by a group of kids screaming at me over the mic.

I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!

My primary social group in the game is mostly people age 35-50 with one confused 17 year old that is our baby and he doesn't understand half our jokes.

This just makes me laugh because the majority of the fans of Pokémon and Animal Crossing are adults past their mid-twenties. Imagine a game like this one that has significantly more mature themes and being part of a series that has been around for much longer. I have met people over the age of 50 who play this game. One of them is insanely good at dps. There's some weird thing with some younger people (at least I've noticed) that anyone older then like 25 and anyone that more then a few years older then you can't be their friend, and that you shouldn't be "in the fandom" of things. EDIT: also, Happy Birthday![]()

Tis true. Generation conflict is not new and had evidently been there since ancient greek. Older gen glorifies their way of life while newer gen wants change from old ways.

Over 50 Gen X. We do actually exist.

I met one good friend here who is almost 10 years younger than me. I like to tease him being in diapers while I was playing FFX :-)
