Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

It is so frustrating to see all these NEW beautiful headgears and hairstyles being released and it has been almost two years since they released Viera and Hroth and yet we cannot wear none of these new hairstyles and only a few of the new headgears. With regard to Vieras. they were able to pull it off with the Fending mask in The Hero's Gauntlet where the rabbit ears are poking out on the top of the helm. So if they can do that already, why the inconsistency? It is understandable if they dont conform pre ShB hairstyles and headgear to Vieras and Hroth but every hairstyle and headgear should be wearable by ALL classes since ShB launched. It is saddening and frustrating to see that this is not the case.

I concur...It makes no sense on why things like the new glamour hats or most of the new dungeon headgear cant be worn seeing as they're developing it alongside everyone else

Now, people keep harping back to the statement that headgear will be limited for the newer races (which is fine, IMO...as long as I can wear my glasses, Im partially good....I still wanna wear the calfskin hat seeing as I've seen pictures of it modded all over twitter for hrothgars and UGH....it looks so good on them!). Im fine for most of t he headgear, but the lack of hairs still boggles my mind. They mentioned wanting to give Viera legacy hairstyles and then backtracked to say that they wanted to give them more racial unique hairstyles, but my question is....why? Why have to develop an entirely new style and putting more work on your team rather than just fitting the originally intended legacy styles to Viera...? Someone mentioned that they speculate that they want to make hrothgars more faces

More faces = More hairstyles, but it still doesn't even address the elephants in the room

1. Hrothgar are still limited to 2 hairstyles which is freaking lame

2. They would still need to buy fantasias just to change their *hair*. I, for one will not be spending 10$ of my actual money to change something as small as my hairstyle. If I buy another fantasia, I will just go back to being a femroe (which I dont want to do because I freaking LOVE my hrothgar). It'll make my money have more bang for my buck :/

Changed to the pigtails again today. Gritting my teeth and dealing with the stupid flowers on the hairbands for now. My god SE, can we please at least have normal elastic bands instead of flowers??

What I have done to get settled on a Viera appearance is to look at real rabbits breeds. I ended up using the Veena, face 4 base and making her a Lilac Rabbit with the thick Hotot eye rings. I had a Thrianta breed inspired Rava made up, too, but moon bun won over sun bun. It was fun creative exercise.

It’s weird, after bouncing through a frightening amount of fantasias, I feel both Viera and Hrothgar have the best unique, base options of the available races at the point you build your avatar. It’s just that the Aesthetician might as well not exist to us while being a key factor to everyone else. I’m just going to start treating Modern Aesthetics like free gil from those too based to play big cats or amazon buns.

They can be so versatile, even with the same faces. Just changing the colours (and clan I guess) . (no idea if that link will work)

They could've at least added more alts and given you a few choices of flower colors like they do with hairbands on others XD

I'll voice again that not having all the hair and hats is fine for me. I love Viera faces! I love the racially themed hairstyles! As someone most people on this forum would call backwards and old fashioned, having racial locks to armor sets or aesthetics was always something I liked as it added a lot of flavor.

I'd rather Viera get a secondary slot for their head that allows for coloring their specific decorations: ie the diadems and flowers. Also, add more of those. A lot more.

We could still have the racially themed hairstyles and the other hairstyles, though. All of the other races do. Same with the racial gear- and viera/hroth didn’t even get their own racially exclusive hempen set like the other races. I’ve seen it suggested that they may intend to dump as many racial hairs in cc for the expansion as they intend to make collectible styles for everyone else. I guess that’s an alright alternative, but if that’s the case I really hope they take into consideration styles that will fill the style gaps we currently have.

As for a new slot in cc for accessories and dyes....unless they make a change like that to the cc in general I don’t see it happening. They’re barely willing to allocate resources to these races as it is, so I don’t think they’d do something like that. If anything we will see an increase in baked in accessories in different but predetermined colors, like the other races have with bows and hairpins. I’d be happy to see this over nothing at all.

The hair bands and ribbons having color options is actually a remnant of 1.0’s customization. We haven’t gotten any variety of that type since.

It would be nice it they would at least say something on the matter. I'd prefer if they just said there's no plan to fix this whatsoever as opposed to being left in the dark with no info.

Is there a good avenue to pester Yoshi for an updated answer?
It's been a long time since I've seen anyone in an interview ask him about this, and it has to really be someone who follows up until we get some real clarity.
No letting him hand-wave it away "we're working on it!" or whatever.

I don't know, some part of me thinks the only way they could possibly justify n o t h i n g for all of Shadowbringers, is because they decided updating the character system for 6.0 is a more practical thing to do, and they'll announce that in May or whatever.
But, probably not lol.
