I've sworn like a sailor in /say and /p since HW. I'd be naive to think no one has ever reported me for it, but I know plenty of people who behave the same way and haven't had a single strike against them.

Don't they usually say something along the lines of they can't say exactly what you did to break the TOS?

They give you a rough explanation, in this case it will be "using offensive language", but they won't say exactly what you said that triggered the report unless you trace it back to a particular interaction and harass the person who reported you.

Most people won't just go around reporting people just for swearing in /say chat. People can't be bothered. Usually people report because they were the target of some kind of abusive comment.
TC claimed they got toxic in Frontlines chat. That's 99% the reason right there.

Might be to make sure you get the message, since emails can land in junk mail or go ignored. Also if it’s just a warning, then there’s the chance you could run around doing the same thing for a while before you check your email. Covers their butt from you saying “but I didn’t knowwwwww! :’(“ .

An imperfect system given that apparently most people don’t know what they did even after being talked to, but hey.
