Probably -- but my translation of this is that likely something has gone haywire with permissions; which either allows or blocks passage to and from the worlds. So... they might let you back on to try it, only to be stuck, yet again... this time behind a loading screen. Bad place to play, really. EEK!

While I understand that they cannot re-open world visit while the bug persists and this leaves me stranded on a world where I have no access to my retainer, I wish they would at least fully open the Firmament for Wanderers for the duration of this so I can do the Ishgard Fêtes.

To be fair, Wanderers doing restoration stuff on other servers was the exact reason they world locked the Firmament in the first place..

Yes, because people would jump from world to world to catch multiple FATEs locking out the people actually from that world. But right now no one can hop worlds so all it does is does lock wanderers out from the content period. The firmanent lock should obviously be reinstated after world visit returns.
