Yeah, the Form & Function braid is a bit wonky with the ears going over the braided part and 2B hair with the headband could be a problem as well. But even having some of them would still be better than none at all.

Like you I was pretty excited when they said we'd get unique hairs, it would be a great chance to really go crazy with the hairstyles they could do without having to account for a hat-compatible style.

    But here we are.

People would be far more forgiving if the only hairstyles we were missing were those that would have severe clipping issues for viera ears and hrothgar's posture. At least those issues at a glance are obvious. Even having access to only the ShB hairstyles would make me far more forgiving. But instead we were dangled the hope of new hair at the beginning of ShB, and now we're almost at the end and we got nothing. Not even a small comment about it.

Some people get their kicks from telling us we're babies for expecting SE to have at least made a comment on their promise after almost two years. I guess they crave the feeling of superiority.

But it is generally how SE takes feedback. 1 large thread is worth more than hundreds of small threads.

This. Time and again Yoshi-P, other devs and the forum peeps have said tons of small threads are skimmed over simply because it's far bigger of a hassle gathering all the topics for review rather than one big topic that has everything in it that can be scanned in one go.

If you actually want to make feedback, stop making duplicate threads that will die off. Make one big megathread that'll go for hundreds of pages and be constantly active by adding your commentary to one of the trillion already existing Viera/Hroth threads that exist.

    You're right and I agree.

But I'll say that the level of condescension and mockery this topic seems to invite when people have tried bumping one of the older existing threads to talk about this rather than start a new one gets really demoralizing, so people step away instead.

No one wants to be the lightning rod for this ****, OP hasn't even posted anymore since the first page.

A lot of that has to do with presentation too.

Many of the threads on here get started with posts that are very obnoxious, or are started by people who are incredibly combative.

Theres a lot of good discussion that happens on the forums, but unfortunately, it tends to get overshadowed by all the trolls, disingenuous people, etc.

There are probably people here who believe I think SE can do no wrong. Its more that I enjoy the game for what it is. Does it have faults? yes. Could the devs do better in some areas? absolutely. But I have so few actual issues that I never feel the need to come voice them. I'm much more passive in my dislikes. If a game doesn't cater to me, I simply stop playing.

People seem to believe that every game needs to cater to them specifically or it sucks. I just will never understand that.

But then, I also don't really like Viera and had no interest in them, so of course I'm not up in arms over the hair and hats. I do feel they have been neglected, but I also understand how development plans can 9get thrown out of whack, not only by the pandemic, but other issues as well. Who knows what happened. Maybe the fanfest they will talk about it.

I don't mind if other people aren't up in arms about it to be honest, if people don't really care about something then they don't really care and that's fine.

But having the same circular arguments with (often the same) people that are trying to push this narrative that people are surprised, shocked or even slow to catch on because they dared to inquire about what SE said they'd and then didn't do gets exhausting. Being told to just Fantasia or unsub if you don't like it isn't conducive to a great discussion either I can say.

I think everyone can understand that development plans change or get messed up, especially after last year. But if they can be upfront about having to push the Ultimate back and pop out every now and then to say that they still don't have the resources to do the other genders but they totally would if they could then I don't think it's too much to ask for a simple update on this particular issue, especially considering how long it's been.

Hopefully this thread can stay active for a good while longer than they normally do.

I just get tired of being the only race in the game that has to pay actual money to choose between my hairstyles for hrothgar . Can I just use that fantasia and change back to my queen femroe and have fun with all the hairstyles?

    Yes, Yes I can.

Do I want to just straight up abandon my lovable cat man nerd thing? No. No I dont. Im jealous of viera tho. You guys get some decent hairstyles out the gate and you dont have to perform plastic surgery on your character just to get the choice between TWO hairstyles haha

Yes, they said Viera would get new hairstyles eventually - and I know you never got any. However they never said which hairstyles (I think it was pretty clear that you wouldnt get all of them) or when that would happen. Considering that for the last year we've all been dealing with this little thing called a pandemic, I wouldnt be surprised if Viera hairstyles were one of the things that would be even easier to cut than seasonal events.

Bottomline: They said Viera (and Hrothgar) would be limited in certain areas, mainly hairstyles and headgear. We knew this. Seeing threads complaining about it gets quite old after a while...
Just going to say, if no one causes a stink about it, then they aren't going to put any sort of priority into it... Thats how you get things done. All the people with their "Oh Im tired of seeing X or Y" thread. You're not helping. But, I guess since it doesn't pertain to you, you just see it more of a nuisance rather than these players legitimately requesting that their characters not feel like they're still in beta. I understand the pandemic, but I can really only go as far as them developing new content like new ultimate and savage fights..or new dungeons or the likes. But small things like new *HAIRSTYLES* or gear pieces. I can't give them a pass because they make it for the other races just fine.

I remember someone saying that they might release them later, but why do that? Its stupid to release something thats already in game for these two races because it'll increase their production costs trying to rework it later rather than making it alongside everyone else...

They only make adjustments for Miqo'te, as far as I'm aware. Maybe one extra model for long-eared races, but generally they all have ears (or horns-as-ears) attached to the head in the same place as humans so only one universal style is needed. There's also at least one that fully hides human ears but Elezen and Lalafell ears clip straight through with no adjustment.

This is literally the third or fourth hairstyle this expansion, the rest do not work on Viera. Why would you think this one will? He's not even being toxic, ironically it's you that needs to watch the live streams, because they've explained already both races would be limited and they were delivered because we wanted them so badly, but this would be the form we would get them in, and it's not a priority for them to resolve the headpiece/hair issue for them. Think about how much stuff inc the ultimate they're behind on, largely due to the pandemic and realise this is probably the last quality of life thing you're going to get. It was expected that players who picked these races would understand this, apparently not. But then again, knowing this community, I remain unsurprised.
