I'm hoping it's trolling as well, but it's truly hard to say anymore. Anarchy reigns supreme in General Discussion. Please tell me this is trolling. Are you seriously suggesting rent should be somewhere between one third to one half of the price of the house, per month?
If this is a serious suggestion then just forget about it because it will never happen, can you imagine the outcry from people who have spent years making their house just right only to get hit with a bill every month like that? Ridiculous.
Not trolling, but as I said, I don't see the need for gil sink in the first place. Please tell me this is trolling. Are you seriously suggesting rent should be somewhere between one third to one half of the price of the house, per month?

That said, for many people, the issue isn't having gil to have a house, but having a house available. So if we're talking about gil sink, this is at least one way of handling both. People will either have the means to buy and keep a house or they won't. And if they don't, there might be others who would.
I feel the same way toward gil sink in general. I don't see why it's a problem that gil is worthless (or only worth as much as other players make it).
Sorry, still confused. Let me clarify my question: Which idea are you saying I "showed support for in the first place?"
I think you should go back and reread your post.
Are you talking about Themarvin's idea? If that's the case, I disagreed with it, hence why I suggested my own pricing. That's why I'm confused with you saying I showed support for it, unless you mean just in general with respect to having a rental cost system for housing.
If they did this there would be about 3 taken plots on each server. Which FC exactly do you think is going to lay 50 million a month down just for the house? I dont have a house either but this will in no way solve anything. Not trolling, but as I said, I don't see the need for gil sink in the first place.

Even then if they could get that money out of their members, those members would also have to pay for their own houses as well. How on earth is that even close to fair to people who have invested years into their houses?
The people who who have invested years into their houses are not in a disadvantageous position compared to those who haven't invested or don't even have a house. They're also the ones more likely to have the gil or be able to make gil if they can invest in their house.
