Gold Re-skins just don't feel worth it imo but it's nice they're adding things.

Exactly. There's no point in blowing a huge sum of gil on something you don't even like that much just because it exists and you didn't have anything else to buy. That tells the Devs that we'll sink our gil on almost anything and the only work they need to put in is slapping a high price tag on cheap things. If you like it, great, if not then see if they add something better later. Especially now we know they're open to the idea of fancy gil sinks.
Someone tell me how to become a Jeff Bezos of Eorzea so I, too, can complain about not having a massive gil sink. I must've missed something...
Money rarely falls randomly into the lap of those who sit around waiting for it to appear. It usually goes to those who work to earn it.
So do the game equivalent of what Jeff Bezos did in real life - spend hours working hard providing a service others will pay for. Many players would rather pay someone else to do the work to get the items they want than do the work themselves. I do that work and then sell them the items via the marketboard. I get richer while they get poorer because they didn't want to put in the effort but I did.
Crafting and gathering is not the only way. There are items that come from quest rewards, items you can buy with tomestones and GC seals, items you get from treasure maps and lockboxes, items you get from retainer ventures. There are roulette bonuses for being Adventurer in Need and bonuses from challenge log. HW/SB/ShB daily and weekly hunt bills reward gil in addition to seals that can be used to buy things you can either sell for gil or use in place of gil (hello Aetheryte tickets, goodbye teleport fees).
There's a tremendous number of gil making opportunities in the game if you're willing to put in the effort. If you aren't willing, then you're not going to get the gil.

I don't see the need for a gil sink, but if they want one, then it should be for housing.
That's too cheap.
25 million gil/month rent for a large house
10 million gil/month rent for a medium house
1.5 million gil/month rent for a small house
Double it for FC house.

Please tell me this is trolling. Are you seriously suggesting rent should be somewhere between one third to one half of the price of the house, per month?
If this is a serious suggestion then just forget about it because it will never happen, can you imagine the outcry from people who have spent years making their house just right only to get hit with a bill every month like that? Ridiculous.
I pay my sub to play the game, not to spend my time on upkeep.
How am I supposed to make this kind of money if I'm mainly a raider? Or if I'm mainly here for the story?
All this'll do is encourage more RMTing.
