GNB Hotkey Sharing! For a newbie!!

So I'm just now starting to get into Gunbreaker (and tanking) but no matter how I arrange my set up, it just doesn't seem to flow well. Granted I'm somebody who likes to keep their abilities away from their weaponskills but I don't think it's all that possible with how much you get right from the get go.

If people could share their set ups, I'd be most grateful! Even better, share your cross hot bar set up as I am a PS4 player. Thank you <3

I like having my combos on the square, triangle, circle and X buttoms and the mitigation and oGCD on the direction pad, i have exceptions for certain skills like continuation and rough divine with are on the secondary bar but is more comfy for me in general.

I will mention im using the "hold R2+L2" and "hold L2+R2" shortcuts to acces the second bar easily without the need of use R1 wich is annoying and the vertical bars are only to display key skills that are placed on the secondary bar and i can track they recast easily without need to constantly change bars.

Mine definitely isn't great, but I enjoy the flow that this general setup provides on all jobs. Best thing to do is to make sure that abilities are roughly in the same place amongst all the jobs that you play. That being said, my general setup for Tank/DPS is:

R2 + Face Buttons - Melee combo + Stun
R2 + D-Pad - Special Attacks (DoTs, Secondary combos, etc)
R2x2 + Face Buttons - AE combo and attacks
R2x2 + D-Pad - AE or special attack spill over

L2 + Face Buttons - Defensive/Utility/Party Buffs
L2 + D-Pad - Offensive Buffs
L2x2 + Face Buttons - oGCD attacks
L2x2 + D-Pad - Oh shit buttons, and "use once" abilities (summon pets, tank stance)


That being said, my GNB setup is:

R2+Face Buttons - 1+2+3 Combo (Circle, X, Triangle) and Stun (Square)

R2+D-Pad - DoT, Cartridge Refresher, Interrupt, Provoke

R2x2+Face Buttons - AE Combo, AE Cartridge Attack, AE DoT

R2x2+D-Pad - Gnashing Fang Combo + Continuation



L2+Face Buttons - Arm's Length, Group-wide Magic Mitigation Buff, Targeted Damage Buff, 30% damage reduction buff


L2+D-Pad - Damage Buff, Reprisal, the 2 "lesser" mitigation buffs

L2x2+Face Buttons - Gap closer, Ranged Attack, oGCD attack, repeatable single target cartridge attack

L2x2+D-Pad - Tank Stance, Invuln, Shirk, Regen

If I were to go back and change stuff around I definitely would, and I think that you need to find what works for you. If you already have a job at 80 you need to look at what you did with it (if if works). If you don't, then use the job that you leveled to unlock GNB as a base, and put similar abilties/attacks in similar places, that will get you started the quickest.

It's complete preference how you want to do it, no one can decide this for you.

GNB is the fastest paced tank job vs the others, and requires extreme uninterrupted uptime to keep things to a standard flow, it legitimately gets hurt the most by this.
