i hope this works for all current gardening items, iam tired of having to buy overpriced crops off the marketboard simply because iam unlucky enough to own a house therefore am not allowed to perform crossbreading

It won't. Crops need to have a ward - a server that is always on - so that they can tick and grow. The island will be an instance, when you are not in it, it's not running, so the plants wouldn't grow.
