You'd think that would be enough. Yet I could have sworn the tooltip is actually wrong. You don't need to be healed to 100% HP. You need to be healed for 100% of your HP. And Benediction doesn't heal for 100% of your HP; it heals for 1 HP less than 100%, since you'd have to already be dead to not have at least 1 HP prior to Benediction.

And I suppose everyone's HP passively restoring over time doesn't help, huh...

I would guess it doesn't count as healing done, no, just given how often I've died to a a Bene without any further damage taken and healed. Heck, if you're put in LD by a final blow without a DoT, you're dead regardless, as you can't otherwise lose that final 1 HP's worth as to then meet the LD requirement.
