I am honestly kind of hoping that Zenos ends up being a red herring of sorts and that Fandaniel's endgame brings about something much worse as our final foe.

5.0's "twist" was pretty easy to see coming in advance, so if they do decide to veer away from the predictable outcome in 6.0, I pray it's more subtly foreshadowed.

Zenos does look like a distracted red herring in all honesty. The way they emphasised that he sees himself as your "friend" (I had made a Golbez comparison before, but on reflection that's more Emet; Kain/Cecil may be a slightly closer analogy because of the rivalrous lens through which Kain viewed their friendship I guess) further suggests to me that he may change his tack later on. Not as a redemption plot or anything, but solely because Fandaniel threatens to rob him of the only thing he desires, meaning he could turn on him or whatever he is working with for that reason. Also, it's worth noting the stuff about the souls and moon is not in the German or French. There the focus is on his rage and hatred. He is a tool in the end, because Fandaniel is the one with the mystery background, and not him, end boss or otherwise.

Visually Zadnor looks a lot nicer than Southern Front. Can't wait to see how that story ends.

Indeed, it'll make for a nice change of scenery. Apparently on the border of Dalmasca, so I doubt Gabranth will be offed any time soon. Certainly hope not, anyway! I also hope they tie all of it to the MSQ eventually and keep him around as something other than an antagonist.

So we see the mystery light figure in front of the Keeper of the Lake, which is significant. We know this mystery character is going to have a big role in Endwalker, and we know that in Endwalker's 24-man we're going to be solving one of the big hanging myteries left on Eorzea. To me, that all points in one direction - whatever is hidden under Silvertear.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but this stood out to me when someone showed it to me...






With that said, there's quite a few options as to who it might be, and with Hades narrating the 6.0 trailer, I have to wonder...

My transcription of the voiced dialogue in the trailer:

Alphinaud: Our adversary moves against us in unprecedented numbers, compelling us to answer in kind. The outlook, in short, is bleak.

Alphinaud: Yet though our foes are many, and we but few, we may still tip the balance in Eorzea's favor.

Raubahn: Given the enemy's capabilities, we will all need to play our part if we are to have any chance of success.

Raubahn: But if any here should give less than their best, it will be to the cost of every living being on this star.

Fordola: You've got a pretty narrow view of what it means to be a hero, do you know that? You think they're all forged in the fires of battle, that it's all about being brave and killing villains?

Estinien(?): I know you would never turn your back on those in need. Never close your eyes to their suffering.

Arenvald: What in Rhalgr's name happened here?

Fordola: The battlefield's littered with would-be heroes. At this rate, you lot'll be next!

Fandaniel: Destroy them! Destroy them all!

Arenvald: Don't you dare! We came together and we're leaving together!

Zenos: While I await you... I shall drink a sea of souls, and gorge myself upon the darkened moon.

Estinien is the only one I'm unsure about. Others tell me they hear Arenvald or Raubahn, but I'm 90% confident this is our Azure Dragoon.

No, it's definitely not Raubahn or Arenvald. Aside from the accent differing, the difference is starker in the other language versions, in some cases significantly so. Comparing to this it does sound like Estinien is a match:

I'm sure people more familiar with his VA in the other versions could also help confirm it.

I have to say I find Arenvald's excitable, higher pitched JP voice pretty funny in comparison to Yorkshire lad Arenvald from the English one. English Zenos definitely has the creepiest tone of all the voice acting.
