maybe if he took longer to kill or had a longer cooldown. But i don't think you should get a weapon for 80-100 mins worth of fighting. maybe up his hp to 200k and add an extra hard phase in with unpredictable dashes or something.
If you open Ifrit's chest without an Inferno Lamp you can be rewarded Fire Potions.I personally think it should be a randomized pool containing the following:
Potions, Ethers, gil bonuses, crystals, dark matter and 1-2 different items based on the monster / raid (IE: Ifrit chest can drop Eye of Fire while Darkhold chests can drop Umbral Moraines) .
SE already said they would be adding an extra hard mode come 2.0 with extra hard loot as reward.
By the time 2.0 comes out people would have killed Ifrit the way it is now 150-200 times and gotten all the weapons. It will be a whole new battle with a whole new loot system, which will most likely suck again.
I wish people would stop quoting that 2.0 will fix it all, it's 9 months away for the love of god.
I am 90+ wins and have all weapons except Axe. I am really tired of this fight, and the only reason I keep doing it is because of friends needing help and the 4-5k exp bonus at end on a different class.
If they would reward you with items that CAN BE USED somewhere else, like seals for example, I wouldn't care about weapons and I would gladly do it, AS LONG THERE IS A NEED for the new items.
I got an ifrit weapon on my first kill. Then I proceeded to obtain one weapon every 10 kills on average without a duplicate up until I had 5 weapons. At this point I also had obtained 10 totems, in less than 60 kills mind you. I then proceeded to obtain duplicate axe, cudgel, and blade whilst giving away totems before I got my 6th weapon and then I purchased my 7th with the 10 totems. All this is less than 100 kills.
Also, I have a LS mate that got something like 4 weapons (no duplicates) in less than 10 kills the other day during full moon.
I have a theory that there is a GM playing as Ifrit not unlike we play our own characters, and that perhaps this GM determines who gets what loot based upon his observations of you. Kind of like a secret Santa Claus...
Like I said, 2.0 will bring new loot and a new extra hard mode to Ifrit Primal Battle.By the time 2.0 comes out people would have killed Ifrit the way it is now 150-200 times and gotten all the weapons. It will be a whole new battle with a whole new loot system, which will most likely suck again.

I never said 2.0 would "fix it all".
90 wins and 6 /7 weapons is not so bad considering there are players who have gotten none in 60 kills.
And yes, It would be nice if there were additional rewards not unlike the FFXI BCNM battles.
I never said you never said they didn't say that o.O; i'm just sayin...
I totally agree, one totem per person per round would make it way too easy. Considering Ifrit isn't THAT hard to kill once you know what you are doing...
I got all my weapons except one after 60 kills lol... I know people that got all their weapons in 20 kills.
All I am saying is that by the time 2.0 comes out everyone will have these weapons, and the new drops will outshine everything. We will be back at square one.
Hopefully SE adds other rewards, because I am sure as hell they will never fix the drop rate.
lets face it, it coulda been worse. what if there where no weapon drops and one totem drops every round but the party had to share it and pick who it goes to.
