So, even if they gave us tags I feel like people would still get pulled into the Gaol to be told that they're still violating the ToS cause it's disrupting someone else's game. They basically backed themselves into a corner with how they created the ToS.

If the system is literally "you're offended so I will automatically discipline the player" then the system is frankly stupid. This would mean anyone could report someone for anything, even if they knew they did nothing wrong, just to get them in trouble.

And if the system is like that then I wonder why GM staff aren't replaced with AI. It would have the same effect in the end. Highly flawed judgement.

I mean people do that, tbh.
For example, I had a friend who would like to embrace/dote his gf in the middle of Limsa at random periods back when I lived in Primal. Nothing I personally would consider spam (2-3 emotes at at time in broad intervals), just cute flirting and stuff like that. Cut to him getting yanked into Gaol and being given a strike for being disruptive or something similar along those lines, I forget the exact quote. So logic would assume it was either someone reporting him for spam (emotes) or someone jealous of their interactions and reported it for disrupting their experience. Needless to say they both don't play FF anymore and tbh I don't really blame them.

I wish you were joking, but holy crap, you're right. At this point without doing anything at all you're getting reported anyway.

Except that's not the system. Innocent people have nothing to be worried about.
I got reported more than once after offending someone for no reason and nothing ever happened. Weird isn't it ? Well no actually it's normal.
You don't get pulled into GM jail for no reason, and we know from the past that people who got wrongfully warned got their strike removed.

The GM said on both cases to the player to keep in mind the age rating of the game. Just need some common sense to understand that asking for 18+ people for dalliances is not accepted. The word is ambiguous ? Well isn't it just perfect to disguise some ERP ads. So the OP was either less innocent that they pretend or too ambiguous to be considered as such.
There are things we all know are worth a warning. For example spamming emotes or let's say publicly advertise adult content in PF.
It seems to be the exact same problem with all these forum threads "I got warned for advertising my totally SFW RP venue that totally didn't have ERP implied here and there".

I can do a google search and find some FF14 Discord ERP servers in like 30 seconds.
So why do people feel the need to publicly advertise adult content (explicitly or disguised) to an audience partly underaged when you have safer alternatives ?

Look don't get me wrong, I am not a supporter of publicly advertised erp. I don't think it's appropriate with the age rating of this game.

However I find it very worrying that people are often disciplined without being told exactly what they did wrong, and also how "dalliance" supposedly must have sexual connotations just because it was for a bar or night club, as opposed to people just chatting casually with no strings attached which can also be a dalliance. A word with more than one meaning on its own isn't proof of something. If they were caught in the act of pushing their erp onto others then fine I support the punishment. But if not, then that is an issue in of itself.

I used to raid with someone who spewed out empty threats of reporting. In the heat of the moment they would state they would report but after they calmed down they ended up not doing it.

I understand that not being told exactly what you did wrong can be a bit confusing in the cases where you genuinely don't know what you did wrong. But at the same time advertising adult content in PF isn't a very smart nor safe thing to do, and to me that's just common sense.

I just hope it doesn't get to the stage in which players and GMs think "it's a late night bar, it must have adult content!" when it could easily be a bunch of people rping snobs drinking expensive wine while complimenting the attire of their acquaintances.

Can you please explain to me what this card is exactly? I must be blind because I can't find the post that explains it. Was it an in-game mail? Or something outside of the game?
