The Fending Gear starts looking much better once you're past ARR... I hate the ACTUAL Tin Cans that take up 2 slots per piece.
The sum of all hunt arguments over early pullers: http://goo.gl/IFT9IE
Unfortunately GNBs are probably gonna be stuck looking awkward with all the knight armor cause "heavy unit" armor traditions or something idk
RDM has the same problem with all the wizard robes
THIS.
Even so, I feel like most of the fending gears are made for PLD and some for DRK in mind. Even for WAR sometimes it feels off.
I love those though!
They're not even articulate so when wearing them you just stumble along unable to move your neck or knees.
It's hilarious. I look like a little windup toy.
Even as a healer main i must say, im kind of tired always getting these long robes. So i would gladly take more tin can stuff.![]()
I like the bulky armour aesthetic and I think we've a decent variety outside of that available already. There's the 'lighter' sets along the lines of the coliseum gear and I recall one of the Ala Mhigan sets showing off bits of muscle, too.
The tin can armor has the side effect of making many cutscenes unexpectedly hilarious as you cannot perform the customary stoic head nod and just stand there completely motionless instead.
The game also cannot forcibly remove it from you like it does other head pieces during moments where they really want you to be able see your character's expressions which makes it even better then the costume heads at completely killing the mood of a scene.
