Also I...just don't think major character deaths are necessary for a meaningful or impactful story to be told, and a death for the sake of feeling like we need one for...some reason?...would be all the worse. Some of these Scions and other leaders have been through some huge stuff that has had significant impact on their lives, I would much rather see some of them retire post-season 1 story and return to give us a sense of how they've gotten on sorting through all that later.

Only if Diamond takes out that cannon and maybe Gaius (who doesn't really die) with it...

I'm still hoping the Werlyt storyline resolves with at least one of the orphans alive at the end or else I'm going to be disappointed.

Paglthan is the Amaljaa territory east of Thanalan / south of the Shroud. There is a tower in Southern Thanalan and iirc the MSQ mentioned Uldah sending troops/scouts there to investigate so it probably has to do with that, on top of being a "regional sneak peak" like Xelphatol was for the Ixali territories.

Here's hoping our old friends from the Brotherhood of Ash show up in an extra scene or if you get some extra dialogue with them.

There really haven't been many, if any, main character deaths since Heavensward, we're kind of overdue for it lest stakes and tension be seriously undermined if it hasn't already.

I'd say the stakes and tension are already high enough what with Fandaniel threatening the end of the world. A character death needs to make sense and add to the narrative if it's to achieve anything.
