Visiting classic Final Fantasy worlds in FFXIV

This is a Blatant disregard for the fundamental principles on which this series built it's greatness. A Final Fantasy game is a Final Fantasy because it has an Original World with Original Characters in an Original Story. This is something that we cannot be disregarded. This is not Kingdom Hearts.

This kind of laziness has gotten bad enough that even SE had to admit that it's latest entries into the series had diverged to greatly from the Series fundamental principles. Yoshida should not be aloud to do further damage to the brand by opting out of creating new experiences in favor of rapidly releasing content from Old Final Fantasies.This series and this MMO cannot survive by trying to play off the gimmick of previous installments popularity. It is morally reprehensible and dishearteningly lazy.

If you are going to be in Charge of a Hallmark Series like Final Fantasy, you must have the Vision to expand on and the Vigilance to protect the Integrity of the Series.

Yoshida just refers to calling the Casino Gold Saucer, not actually re-creating Gold Saucer un Eorzea.

What the hell about Jobs, name callbacks, spell names, chocobos, moogles, Cid, etc? There is nothing wrong with bringing some stuff that will cater to nostalgia of people that played these games throughout the years, especially because this game as it launched was extremely foreign and didn't feel like part of the series at all.

I believe you are correct, but until I see them say that, I will be vehemently opposed to the prospect of any cross FF world game play. It is not ok.

I am in full support of taking aspects of previous games and adapting them to FFXIV, that is something that has always been done in this series, but under no circumstances should the actual world or characters from any other Final Fantasy appear in this game.

There is a very large difference between Referencing famous names and creatures, as they have since the beginning of the series, and letting You jump between the world of the different games.

Cameo references are fine (which is typical for all FFs), but FFXIV needs to be its own Final Fantasy. Right down to the core.

I do not want to be in the FF8 space station in FF14. Now if the Garleans have some trans-dimensional spacey place, that can work. Similar to how you're floating over Vana'diel in the Empyreal Paradox when you fight Promathia in FFXI.
