    Aurum Vale gripes

So in the first day of this event alone, I've leveled my DRK to level 59 from 54, so 5 levels. A lot of that comes from running prae twice, castrum meridianum once, and aurum vale... a lot. Which is sweet and all, but I'd rather not be in aurum vale for longer than I need to. Which leads to my current gripe about this event - aurum vale has been run so much by so many that a lot of people snoozefest it.

I've been paired with 2 or 3 really... stale healers through duty finder today for aurum vale and it's really, really been sucky to die every time. I pop my cooldowns, make full use of my abilities as much as I reasonably can be expected to (with as much knowledge of them as I have which, admittedly, isn't a lot considering I'm still relatively fresh to tanking).

Every time, I'm paired with a whm that casts maybe three or four holies the entire run, does no DPS at ALL outside of that, and even has to be reminded to even pop a cure my way. I'd votekick them but that's not a guarantee that they'll get kicked for one, and for two, it'd take WAY too long to find another healer - more time than it's worth. So I sigh, cast edge of darkness, and keep going.

Maybe I'll tell them, "hey, remember that the best damage mitigation is DPSing, even the most minimal amount will make this go faster!" But that's gotten tiring to say, even outside of this event.

I mean, do I expect you to do full dps rotations constantly casting and keeping holy on hand ALL THE TIME? no, not at all, if I can't do that I don't expect *you* to do it! What I do expect, however, is maybe more than a cure 1 every 30 seconds? Maybe don't let me die?

I don't want to go into Aurum vale with the expectation of "sigh, this is gonna take way too long, ugh" if i see a White Mage.

What's with this? (Also ngl, it's almost exclusively white mages that do this, which is another gripe of mine because WHM is SO powerful even at lower level dngns like this! What gives, bro!)

I got chewed out by a healer last week in AV as apparently I needed to get better gear. I couldn't be bothered to argue but I was in JSE at level 47, with up to date HQ accessories and the body drop from the previous dungeon, its not really possible to have better gear as you level through it. He then chewed out the party as a whole because we all sucked apparently. 2 of us were sprouts so I guess he just wanted to moan, in truth we didn't have a single death, everyone did the fruit mechanic and adds just fine and we cleared in decent time for level appropriate jobs. I think he just wanted to moan because it was his roulette for the day, I really don't like the dungeon either to be honest but it is what it is.

To be fair as a healer I REALLY REALLY dislike AV. THe amount of tanks going full sonic the hedgehog. DPS refusing to clear stakes. It's by far the least fun instance a healer could get. So it's really annoying to see Healer get in demand only for your queue to give you AV.

Unpopular opinion here: I’m actually excited to get AV as a healer.
It’s one of the few pre 50 dungeons that I won’t ever fall asleep. Provided the most intense challenge is only at the first room since unexpected pulls seem to happen more likely than not—but it’s not impossible to handle.

With this moogle tome event on-going, I bet there will be plenty of AV popping in roulette now

There's only one way to solve this issue...

Don't run AV. That's what I do. Unless I get it for my leveling roulette, then I feel obligated.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

I'm a pretty careful tank, to be fair. skirt around mobs when able to, do the fruit mechanic every time, make sure that the random pulls from DPS don't end up aggroing onto healer because for some reason regen just generates enmity like,,, scarily well. All the same, I'd just like to go into AV without wondering if I'm gonna die yet again lol.

I'd say about 7 times out of 10 tanks want to go full Euro Beat GAS GAS GAS giving their best sonic the hedgehog impression. And I don't know what it is but I've yet to ever party with a decent dark knight. They just always seem to take stupid amounts of damage.

You can run AV with your GC squad... And they're absolute beasts that give no fucks about mechanics.

One thing I think both healers and tanks could be more aware of sometimes is just how OP level sync is. There is a huge difference between a level 80 tank syncing down to 47, and a tank leveling at 47.
