I'm guessing people can do ultimate in level 1 armor now because when I last checked savage like releases required you to grind for the most up to date gear.

Actually, it is designed to be able to done by using the min ilevel required, but most can't keep a tedious pace, and if going in under geared, then with additional food and buffs.

I'm not reaching at all. The premise of your complaint is the idea of grinding... in an MMO. Spoilers, it's all grinding. If the argument was it was unnecessarily long or difficult grinding, that'd be one thing. But it's not. Capping mettle is very quick and easy. If you cannot stomach something in sideways content that can be completed so quickly, simply don't do it.
