So more of a PF story, on another alt having gotten their blu to 67.

I joined a garuda ex spell farm where the leader insisted on level syncing it to guarantee the spell dropping for the party. Well, this only works if everyone knows the mechanics and plans ahead.

The party I was in did not exactly plan ahead. None of the healer blus had raise, including me (because I'm still fumbling at some of the masked carnival stuff), and only one was able to tank properly. Needless to say after about 7 wipes I suggested to unsync it. Naturally this got flak from the pt lead, but others were in agreement because we were tired of wiping.

We all pull out, leader puts us back in unsynced, and bam, everyone got the spell. Pt lead was rather flabbergasted, but when the party is continuously wiping because of everything hitting the fan over 1 spell, you're better off getting the fight done quick and having a lower chance of it dropping over that sort of sh*tshow.

today me and my friend from guild join the usual DF levelling

we got the very first dungeon (i forgot the name) and both dps are new to the game (sprout) so we just having fun and chat a lot alongside the run

turn out both dps are actually in the same country as me and they also into game/anime and convention/expo event so we might actually pass by each other back then

stuff like this is why i love mmorpg lol

That feeling when you are:

- As the Paladin Tank, the only one left fighting the final boss of Amaurot, Therion, with everyone else died.
- Managed to survive for a long time all by myself, surviving *two* direct shots of Apokalypsis with Hallowed Ground and Clemency, because the safe platforms are all already destroyed.
- Actually managed to win the fight.

Only to not receive a single comm in the end.

- Managed to survive for a long time all by myself, surviving *two* direct shots of Apokalypsis with Hallowed Ground and Clemency, because the safe platforms are all already destroyed.
- Actually managed to win the fight.

Only to not receive a single comm in the end.

Amazing achievement but please consider this: you finished the battle for them and they didn't learn how to handle the mechanics. Perhaps some got frustrated. Sometimes the group experience is failing and learning together.

I think you can actually eat that burst without invulns. I'm pretty sure I've done it before. Helps that PLD can heal themselves. Anyway, people handing out commendations is so random, no sense looking for a reason why they didn't get any, in my opinion.

Though I like seeing if I can finish the fight myself I have been asked to wipe before so others can take part in the fight even if it is possible to solo the rest. Most timee I ignore it, but it is a stance some have.

While that is true, even just seeing the mechanics and how people react to them can be a learning experience in and of itself...if they aren't busy watching Netflix/staring at their phone/other screen.

Reminds me of when I was first leveling WAR and kept getting Cutters Cry for leveling roulette, every day, for most of the time I was able to get it. Back when WAR had Bloodbath too, so it was even more self-sustaining than it is. Kept having to solo the Chimera for the last 30-40% almost every run as well. Nobody really complained about it that I recall, they usually were impressed that I could actually do that. Also had to solo Coincounter as a BRD back in ARR from ~30%...kiting him around the arena with Second Wind on constant CD was interesting.

As for a story, well, the other day doing DR had a DNC in my group that didn't have a dance partner until the second last fight, didn't use either Standard or Technical step more than 2 times the ENTIRE run, and just auto attacked for 80-90% of the fights. When someone mentioned that it's taking a while I commented that "That's what happens when people just auto attack and dodge stuff". Seeing a DNC, with savage gear in most slots, played that way hurts as a DNC main myself.

"Some healing spells would be good. Glare isn't your only button." said my co-WHM.

Having observed their gameplay too, I was tempted to retort and already typed: "Medica II, Regen, & -Assize- aren't your only -healing actions-." but ended up not sending it. Sounds like more trouble than its worthy for.

Just don't tell them that lost actions are more useful than a healer's healing! Pop a profane and glare away!

Oh definitely not gonna lie, I was tempted to pop Profane! WHM is such a monster DPS machine in DR with dmg essence & even moreso with seraph strike.

Granted, they seem to heal somewhat less frequently after commenting, it’s as if to see if I will actually pitch in or not... I mean I always did, even though usually just barely enough for them to not overheal. I just don’t want to stop glaring when I know I can wait for like next 10+ seconds till I can refresh Dia & weave something like Asylum to do the job. Feelsbad when they don’t know their full kits yet calling out their co-player for not being cooperative Heck I didn’t see stuffs like Plenary that usually random WHM loves to use cause... big overheals. They seem to forget [Esuna] & [Temperance] were also a thing.

Good thing the DR run after that was a refreshing 31m zoom zoom run! Wow, that was the fastest DR run I ever had!
