I like most jobs, but Sam is my favorite for sure.
1. It is a straightforward job with almost no friction (until tsubame comes along and messes it all up).
2, Big numbers, big crits.
3. I love the aesthetic, wish I could spew out even more cherry blossoms.
4. Low positional requirements. I like positionals, but I don't like having to do a lot of them (monk) or regularly doing them back to back (drg).
5. One of a tiny handful of jobs that actually have a fairly involved aoe rotation. Like I have to move between cones and circles, have an attack I am building to, and have a gauge spender and have to be paying as much attention to the kenki gauge in aoe as in single target.
6. Yaten > enpi > gyoten (hope I got this right, im not looking it up) may technically be a dps loss, but it still feels S I C K.
7. More buttons to push when doing basic combos, which was the main selling point that got me off of nin back in stormblood.
8. More buttons than most other jobs period also a selling point to me, I like the keyboard piano.
9. I love third eye > seigan. Like yeah, it's an almost meaningless dps increase and the seigan animation is weak, but I don't really care. Every time I do this I get the same feeling of satisfaction as when I execute parries in other, more action-oriented games.
10. It goes fast. Not as fast as monk or nin (well outside of bozja gear, currently at 1.68 gcd), but still fast enough.
