Why are people guessing that the next job is Necromancer?

I highly doubt they want to add another pet job. At most they might get something like the mch robot/fray thing drk has but I don't think they'll add a job about raising the undead. Both because of how SMN has been an issue for them and in part I just don't see them having the WOL raising corpses.

Doesn't have to be corpses. You all are thinking just skeletons and such. They could also have us summon voidlings too. Hell they could even summon dark clones of ourselves just with different weapons to join us. Ya peeps are thinking too small.

At that point though it's necromancer in name only if they don't have us actually dealing with the dead and they may as well go in a different direction with it.

Even then though I doubt they're going to go for multiple summoned adds at a time.

But what of their album, "Something Wild" with the song, "Touch like Angel of Death?"

The lyrics go like so, though the singing is... not for me (Note, editted for profanity). I also bolded some parts that seem to sort of tie into the WoL's life and perhaps the next job being, "Beast Hunter" or some flavor of Beastmaster.

Beastmaster could be a thing but I'd be surprised if it was added as a full rather than limited job. I don't see them adding another full on pet job but I could be wrong of course.

As for Bozja, while that 'could' be foreshadowing I think at least part of it is just a means of adding enemy variety. If the place was all magitek weapons and soldiers in uniform it'd get kind of dull, so the use beastmasters as a means of adding variety to the enemy encounters while still tying them to the Empire and not just being random monsters in the war zone.

If it is Beastmaster it will not deal with pets... which for many will kinda destroy the point of beast master

Also to be fair this is entirely speculation, not anything concrete.

But I think it's at least fairly likely that whatever the new job is, is what Zenos is going for after breaking his katana.

So I'm thinking whatever this job ends up being, is something they would conceivably turn Zenos into with a job change, which I don't think necromance or beast master would fit.

But again that's all guesswork and that theory could end up being false.

If it's a full job I doubt it will be 'Beastmaster', though I don't doubt it could be a job with Beastmaster inspiration (just like I'd doubt literally necromancer but see nothing wrong if a job had inspiration from that concept).

Honestly the song just makes me think Ranjit even more, allowing a much easier fit into balance while avoiding much direct control (like a Dark Knight or Machinist pet), and at the same time he does fit many of the potential boxes you might make (including the thoughts on armor, melee, scythe, pet, reaper / death like appearance, etc).

Unless the shirt is announcing a limited job, which could be a thing he is doing now but he didn't do that for blue mage so.. /shrug. Personally hope not because guessing the next limited job is not a very interesting prospect to me, unless they make this job have an entirely different design philosophy (not designed for PF focus, fine others like that- but zero interest to me).

Although I think there is a chance we've not seen the whole weapon (or it's just not a scythe, though it feels like a good chance it might have that curved blade appearance somewhere), not a massive problem but we do have Edda's scythe available in the mog shop for multiple jobs. Might see double scythe, or with chains god of war style or whatever. Also while not a massive problem adding further distance to Botanist wouldn't be an awful idea (I think it'd be fine if you wanted too, but the extra distance wouldn't be bad either). Allowing the job to have more self identity over "battle botanist" or people regularly confusing you for the white mage using Edda's weapon.

I have heard that the most common evidence is that Yoshi P was wearing a T-shirt with a reaper with a scythe on it. But isn't necromancer a caster job? How would it fit as a melee DPS?

It's just a phantasm.

As well as the fact that many hoped to see the WoL turn to the dark side in the style of Anakin Skywalker.

Whereas Shadowbringer was just bringing darkness to a world bathed in too much light.
Yet the lyrics of the song said: "One bring shadow, one brings the light. Two-toned echoes tumbling through time".

Why does the dark knight appeal more than the paladin? (Aside from the fact that I thought the paladin change in ShB was really crappy, to the point of making me play Drk instead of Pld. Making the paladin a tank where you spam spells is the worst idea.)

Because evil is too good? Is darkness too good?
