    Why do all U/U items sell for 1 gil?

    I've always wondered this. In other games, when an untradeable piece that I can't use drops or I outgrow a piece I've been using, I normally NPC it off for a little money. Nothing spectacular, but definitely more than 1 gil. o.0

    Just as an example, when the [item=5020114]Tenfinger Tallstaff[/item] drops while I help a friend in Toto-rak, I roll my eyes because my THM is already at 50; chances are I was there for a piece for a lower job, or helping a friend. This isn't XI where I can keep it and say, "Well, maybe when a new mage class is released, I can use it again." It's just just hogging an inventory spot. And then, it's not even worth as much as a regular staff that level. Consider the NPC price almost a consolation prize for "Well, you got a drop, but not one you need."

    Asking for it to sell for the market value is silly; but is it that much for NPCs to pay as much as they would for a lesser, crafted piece of the same level? I don't know about staves (and I don't feel like buying one just to find out), but the Wind Brand I got from a THM quest would NPC for 2.2k; So can't a level 30 item from a dungeon boss sell for at least 2k?

    I imagine the design decision for this was so you didnt accidentally sell it. It is similar to alot of single playing RPG's rare items either can't be sold or sell for a gil/gold piece etc.

    ....that's not the issue at all. These items can be sold. And if you accidentally do it, you gain 1 gil.

    That would definitely be a way to get people to run dungeons again. <_<;

    i made a thread on it before. lore wise it makes sense for the GC it issue rewards for bringing back proof of destroying NM's and stuff.

    I really like the idea. ^^ We could really use more ways to get seals, too... trying to trade items in once a week has gotten ridiculous. :/

    Hopefully the "Special Supply/Provisioning Ops" adding U/U gear means we can

    Wow, thanks. :0 When I skimmed over that, I assumed it just said they were adding more U/U items to be traded for. :x I hope it's not on a rotation like the current system...

    And as for my OP, at least getting GC seals will make them worth something, if not worth gil directly.

    I suppose what with money being so abundant and easy to obtain they don't want to make it any easier to farm items to vendor for gil.

    Yeah, I think it'd be much better to be able to trade them for GC seals myself.
