What was your first Final Fantasy?
Final Fantasy VII
Which Final Fantasy was the first one you finished?
Final Fantasy VII
Did you explore more of the series afterwards?
Yes. You might say I've become obsessed. I've played Final Fantasys I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VII: Remake*, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XI, XII, XIII, XIII-2, XIII: Lightning Returns, XIV, XV, Crystal Chronicles, Legends I, Legends II, Legends III, Adventure, Type O, World of Final Fantasy, Tactics Advanced (didn't play much of regular Tactics though).
There's probably more not coming to mind.
*why didn't they call it Remako?
Which Final Fantasy carries the most weight in your mind(or lives there rent free)?
Final Fantasy XIV. Given this is FFXIV, maybe I should pick one that isn't XIV. By which point it'd be IX or XI.
For a long time VII was my favourite followed by VIII, but now that I am an adult and not the edgy teen I was, IX took over. Then XI of course was a mess of an MMO by any modern standards, yet IMO it had so much going for it and I loved it, heck I still go back to play. Whilst I always praised XI's story, I feel XIV has surpassed it with ShB.
Care to just gush about your favorite Final Fantasy moments over the years?
Hmm, I really liked Zidane's "You Are Not Alone" sequence and Beatrix's story arc as well as Freyja's (Freyja's was cut too short though). They were all emotional bits to FFIX. And of course the destruction the summons wrought at several parts of the game just brought to light how powerful and terrible they are, for me it's probably the first I saw them carrying that kind of weight that I don't feel was matched until Bahamut showed up in XIV. The Destruction of Cleyra, the attack on Lindblum and of course, the Summoning of Alexander. Then of course, the Answers video for XIV ngl gave me a lot of hype for ARR's release.
There's probably many moments, but I guess they're the ones to come to mind, beyond somebody very obvious ones in Shadowbringers, but out of courtesy I'll not put any spoilers in.
And of course, fighting Kefka in FFVI and Sephiroth in FFVII. And Kuja in IX and Necron - I liked Necron. Sephiroth of course was my first encounter of a final boss in a Final Fantasy, so it was an experience. Kefka of course is grandiose and Dancing Mad is just adds a lot to it, that sadly I was disappointed by FFXIV's version of the fight. And out of Kuja and Necron, it was Necron's fight that hooked me more, although it's this thing that came completely out of left field.
And with IX the whole twist with Terra and Garlond, that concept really interested me. And of course getting to Memoria, it was this whole weird and abstract place and I loved it...it's becoming clear why I put IX down in a previous question.
