I think these sorts of user planned events are great for bringing people together.

Other ideas:

We had a beach party and fireworks festival last summer during the Firefall Faire event, which was also a lot of fun.

ok now these are the types of events i would love to be part of. it's much better than sitting and crafting day in and day out because we barely even have as many people online total as you events are bringing in.

the ideas are great and i love seeing things like these. the community coming together and doing events like these reminds me of why i believe this game will be a success in the long run.

Do you know any "connector" type people on Karnak?
You could perhaps suggest an event to them and see if they could try to organize something.

Pretty much all of our events grew naturally with 1 well-connected person posting about it on their Lodestone blog a week or two in advance, and just asking people to help spread the word. ^^

yeah, karnak is so small the vast majority of us know everyone else there. the issue is the amount of people that are online at once. something like the fashion show you guys put on we just don't have the people on to try and put together. we just lack having the number of people online. i'm hoping after the merge we would have enough people interested in doing some of those type of events though.

Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. ><;

I'm on Saronia which is a 1-chocobo server.
But we have a very active Japanese player population which I am a part of, so it's not difficult to get people together for new events. Most people stick to their Linkshells day to day, but these events are nice for meeting people you don't normally talk with.

Population-wise, I do hope things improve all around.
