I felt disappointed that we put all that effort into restoring a tiny square and celebrated that while the rest of Yanxia remained in rubble. Every time I go there I feel like there is unfinished business.

That's just the nature of the overworld zones, unfortunately. The development team will, hopefully, make use of phasing moving forward. WoW is a much older game but employed such methods with decent results.

Would love to see more phasing. There are some multiplayer challenges that can be involved but simply being careful of where and what is 'there' can help a lot. Like if you restore the castle with phasing and you have all the areas explore-able but there is no Hunt or FATE that spawns in there that everyone needs access to then it's fine to employ a more aggressive local phasing (such that players may 'vanish' as they walk into the phase).

I also think they could get away with allowing players to control their phasing a bit via an Echo interface, then simply apply a question when you join a player in party that is in a phase that is lower than your own.
